Well......here goes nothing! I'm gonna do my first half-iron in June '08 at the Pacific Crest. I guess I am committed now. I'm new around here and am looking forward to some much needed advice.

Welcome to the site. I've done Pac Crest 1/2 before, and may do it again this year.

Do you swim at Juniper? I have some friends who swim Masters there.

I do but not with the Masters team, that's the spouses arena. She's a studette in the pool, me...not so much.

Do the Crest!! It's such a great event. Plus you get to slouch around on Sunday and cheer others in. A bit of advice mostly for us "low-landers" (came to me from Yaqui last year) you will feel the altitude on the swim. Maybe I'll see ya there!

Thanks to all! One benefit of living here is getting used to the altitude and having access to some local spots to train that have even more altitude. I will use the training log! Great to be here.

Hi... I'm from North Bend (Coos Bay)... I did the Pacific Crest Oly last summer.  I'm gonna do the  Oly again this coming summer just to see the difference!  It was a great event.  Good luck on th 1/2 and hopefully talk to you more as the year progresses.
