Is anyone aware of a school that doesnt lock the gates to their track anywhere between Woodstock and Roswell? It would be in the hours 5:30-6:00a.m... i'm really having a hard time finding one.

We went to Lassiter, Roswell and Pope last year. Never in the morning though. Always after work. I try my hardest never to do anything in the morning!

If Crabapple's not too far out of your way:

Not sure about the track at Milton High School, but Northwestern Middle School is right next to it and, if memory serves, I think there's a track and I don't think it's fenced. Lou should know.  He lives there during soccer season .

I used to do track workouts at Centennial High School a few years back at that hour (there were actually quite a few groups out there most days). Not sure if that's too far for you or the track is still open. Best way to find out is to call each schools main office and tell them you'd like to use their track and what hours. They'll let you know if it's open.

Sounds like you're really going to do your marathon training right!

Hah...Mila knows too much...Northwestern is indeed accessible, but it's a 440 track and it's old...not the nice rubberized track you find at the high schools...Milton is hit or miss - sometime it's open, sometimes not.  I've heard that Alpharetta HS (off N'point Pkwy, between Club Med (aka LTF) and N. Fulton Senior Center (aka YMCA) is open for early AM WO's - apparently quite a few tri folks use it on a regular basis

See, Steven?  If you join you could work out at Alpharetta High School then hop over to Club Med for a shower and breakfast and be halfway to work!

Heh.  N. Fulton Senior Center... heh.

Steve,

You could run the track over at Hobgood Park. It's not optimal, but it is 1/2 mile long so less turns, and that nasty little hill on the backside does make you work a little harder. I have done my track work there for years.
