What is a normal blood pressure for a triathlete?

Yes, I know that it will differ among each individual, just asking for a guess-timate. :-(

I have absolutely no idea. I just happen to know mine was 110/70 the other day at the doctor's office. I've been lower, but I think I was just nervous/anxious waiting for the exam....I'm sure people on here that have been training for a while have really low BP's...

That's a funny question because I got a physical yesterday and it was my first one in five years...my BP was 102/64.

Eoes anyone know what high Chloride means? (does that mean I swim too much?) Seriously though, my chemistry came back with just slighly above average Cholride....?!?

Steve - quick google turned up this on Chloride and chemistry, doesn't seem to be a big deal.

My BP last tiem I went to the doc was like 120/70. I've heard the lower number is more important. I have a home machine, not sure how accurate it is.

Thanks for all the help guys. Mine was 112/74 wiht a RHR of 57.

The problem is that when I bike, my pelvis goes numb, and when i run, my right foot goes numb sometimes. I am seeing a doctor about this next week, but I was thinking maybe it had something to do with my blood pressure.

Does anyone know why this might happen?

I'd suspect it's not a blood pressure problem in either case (since your BP is normal and there are so many other more likely causes...)

As for your feet, try massaging them for about 5 minutes each before you run to promote bloodflow to the muscles in there...if you can get someone else to do it, even better

I spoke to the doctor about this same exact thing (but numbness in my left toes on the bike) during my physical this week. He said that it most likely is coming from the base of my spine where the nerves that go to the lower body begin.

Perhaps ask your doctor or chiro about this possibility. May be an off centered disc? I don't know.

Sounds about right. I have a bulge in my lower back. It doesn't hurt, but has been that way for a year or two. I will check it out. Thank you all. ;-) :-O
