Subject: Step by Step Instructions, please!

Ok...on my Garmin 305, I have the Virtual Partner turned on and want to use it for a quick workout (5k).  I entered all the requested info, but from that screen I cannot get it to give me the divided screen with VP running (showing me ahead or behind).  I have read the manual and read posts and watched the tutorial, but I don't get it.

Please help - am I being stupid?

You need to hit the up or down button and cycle through the screens and then it should appear.
