My calculated risk payed off. Last week I noticed my calorie intake had drifted down to about 1400-1500. I started thinking that if that was what I was eating at 200+ pounds what was I going to be able to eat when I was in the 130's? I decided to increase my calorie intake to around 1750-1800 for the week (actually I hit 1900 on average) and that seems to have revved up my engine. It was a little scary and one day I felt like I was losing control. I was afraid I was going to go off the wagon but I kept telling myself I didn't need to be perfect. I logged everything I ate even when I didn't want to admit to it, and I think that was the most important reason I got back on track. The one day I thought I was so "bad" wasn't as bad as I thought when I really looked at the raw numbers in fitday. I've been working on my all or nothing attitude especially when it comes to exercising. My new mantra is something is better than nothing.
Goal for May - 194
Boy I can't wait to say goodbye for good to the 200's.
I have read some studies on Leptin that would explain this loss of weight as you increase calories and why we stop losing weight when we cut calories. |
