Daremo - 2008-04-17 9:25 AM Because I had a birthday lunch out with the wife and then a birthday dinner out with the whole family on Tuesday, then a celebratory lunch at an Italian restaurant yesterday for the close out of a huge project I helped on I have been eating like a frickin' pig in slop.  I've gained like 5 pounds in the last few days ........ seriously. Surprised

I think it is pretty funny that a guy with 5% body fat is talking about gaining 5lbs. Sounds like something I would say and I definitely have more BF to worry about.

ZICAM, three times a day.  It works for me every time.  Get the nasal version, not the tablet unless you are interested in losing the sense of taste for a few days.

How much of a zoo is the expo?  We are getting into Boston tomorrow around 2pm, but not staying downtown.  Should I try to get there on Saturday instead of Sunday? or doesn't it really matter?

For what it is worth, I am not a shopper so I really want to buzz in and buzz out of there.

Last year the packet and tee shirt pickup was on the outskirts of the main floor, so someone just wanting to get their registration stuff does not have to even go into the expo.  If it is the same this year then you can avoid the melee.  And it was packed when I was there on Sunday last year ...... total mad house (and I heard it was actually lighter than it was on Saturday).

Be careful what you get from the pharmacy. You don't want to fail the required blood test they do at the finish.

Yeah, mom and I are just going to get our packet and skip the actual Expo. Boy, traveling for a marathon sure is easier than traveling for Ironman! I love the lack of "stuff".

I'm at 59th & Park - stay the heck away from me man!

I've been feeling like crap all day and a low grade headache for a couple of days - if I even think I'm coming down with someting - I'm sleeping all day tomorrow.

I've had a drippy nose and that "hot" feeling you get in your throat for like a week (the wife and kids had colds a week or two ago).  But I've just been like, what the hell, I've run a 1/2 with bronchitus or something similar ... no big deal!

I just pop them with my finger nail, pull the skin off and let it air out as much as possible to get some skin over it.  But I'm a bit psycho people say when it comes to "self surgery."

I never have, doesn't mean that it doesn't work for others.

There are a lot of "proven" remedies out there.  As long as it stays dry and cool it should heal quickly.

we're driving up leave on Sunday morning.  Have no idea what time we'll be getting into the expo.  wish I new so could see about hooking up with some of y'all.

(then again, going with 2 kids in tow - so you may want to keep far away from me   )

Don't forget the women's olympic marathon trials are on Sunday, so that might be something else you might want to catch either before or after you are at the expo.

I went to the expo on Friday - No big deal and you can get your number and t-shirt and not even go in to the chaos. If you decide to go in you can eat your body weight in gu/powerbar/recovery drink/ organic food.

I've had bad blisters before and my recommendation would be to let them air out after you cut the skin off and whenever you do your last little warmup run see if the pain of the blister causes you to change your gate or stride or footstrike. If it does lube it up! I do most of my short tris without socks so I blister bad sometimes and vaseline really does trick.

Have a great weekend and race!

What a Marathon, amazing, the crowd support is unreal. I never even hit the wall, a first. Ok maybe I did at mile 24 for about 30 seconds. This was unreal. I got in at 3:23:59 which was under my goal of 3:25 that's the time I aimed for in the end and of course still in under my little Brothers 3:28:28 Haha.

Hope you all enjoyed it as much as me.
