Subject: Sleep, glorious sleep... My average weekday is like this - out of bed just before 5, out the door at 5:40, on the bus at 5:50, at work at 7:15, back on the bus at 5:15, at the Y (or training at home ) at 6:45, home at 8:15 or so. At this point I still need to shower, eat, and wind down, not to mention any of the other things that need to get done. I hardly ever make it to bed before 10:30, usually more like 11, then I have to fall asleep. So during the week, I usually only get about 5.5-6 hours of actual sleep each night.
However, on the bus I am usually able to squeeze in a half hour or so of napping in either direction. I find that the morning nap (usually 45 mins ) helps with my energy level at work, and the evening nap (as long as it's not longer than half an hour ) helps me feel up to working out. When I used to drive to work (62 miles each way ) I was always exhausted after work, although it did free up a little more time, and I usually went to bed earlier. I also didn't work out as consistently back then.
Anyway.... I know this isn't exactly the healthiest sleep pattern, and I'm wondering just how bad (or not so bad ) it really is. Anyone else have an unusual sleep pattern? |
