Enders,  I swear you are wasting away to nothing.  Eat something girl.

No worries - I'm not quite at the "Eat a Cheeseburger" stage. But hubby is going to complain about the shopping I'm going to need to do this summer. Ha!

If we are discussing reading habits - I love to read.  I don't have 3-4 books going at a time if they are fiction, I read them one at a time.  Non-fiction?  Yeah, maybe 2 I'm kinda looking at.

I read fast,  I think I developed the skill because I can't wait to get to the end of the book if I'm enjoying the story.  I can finish a novel in 3-4 hours.  So, that was my reward for last week - I bought the new JD Robb and read the first few chapters Sun night and the rest on Monday.  It felt very decadent.  I've never tracked how many books I read a year - that might be an interesting statistic.  I own at least 200 though.

Another reader over here!  I usually look at the cover once and then flip it over to read what the book is about.  If it seems interesting I get it.  Here's the odd thing....once I get home I start reading and then ignore the cover....I can't tell you how many times I've finished a great book and have no idea what the title is!  Actually I'm reading a reading wonderful book right now and I don't know the name of it, but it does have the word "fog" in the title.

Congratulations all you losers! (became too many to congratulate individually ) Happy passover to fone and Abbie!

I'm a reader too, though don't seem to have much time for fiction these days with training. Once I start a good fiction book I can't put it down til I'm finished! Reading alot of nonfiction books these days though, especially triathlon related. I did just buy Kurt Vonnegut's new collection of essays (can't remember the title). So, my reward for doing some sort of activity every day will be to take an afternoon off and read it . Thanks Saph, I love this idea!

Sorry my weigh in is a little late.

this week 119

last week 118.?

Wanting to eat everything that's not nailed down the last few days. Can it be that time again already? Maybe it's just the weather and not being able to get outside enough.

Dang,  Quite a few avid readers here.  I am not sure how many, but I have 436 ft of bookshelves.  I like fiction unless I am reading about past presidents or the civil war or WWI or WWII or ?.  I like Tolkein, King, Koontz, Patterson, Ann Rice and many others.  Loved "Lord of the Rings",  "The Wastelands",  "Interview with a Vampire".  David Copperfield is awesome as is The Three Musketeers and Moby Dick and who could ever forget "Triathlete" magazine.  Oh yeah,  Can't forget Harry Potter.

Didn't do any training today, but I did take the girls to the park and played frisbee, played on the slides and jungle gym for 1 1/2 hours.  Does that count as moving?

Very quiet, what's going on????

Well Enders, I guess it's just us today.  Anyway, I'll share a story.  Today I had the most amazing run, EVER!  I went out for my 10-miler this morning.  Was listening to my iPod and after about 20 minutes into the run, I decided to pick up the pace evey other song.  For the songs in between, I would slow down and use it as a recovery.  When I finished the run, I was done in 1:24:00!!!  Based on that my average pace was 8:24 p/mile!  I walked the first 2-3 minutes as a warm-up so my pace could have even been a bit better.

So I get home very excited about my run share the great news with my hubby.....THEN.....I shower and get dressed and find....(drum-roll please)......my bra has creases in the cups because I'm not filling it out the way I used to!!!  Granted the "girls" were never huge to start with, but I just starting laughing. Then I went to find my hubby and I flashed him my sagging bra...ha ha!!!

Tonight I'm off to Arizona for a mini-vacation.  Yippee!

well despite the blah phase recently, I've dipped below 190 again, this morning at 189.6 I actually was stunned when I saw the numbers. I laughed out loud. So, I'm in pretty good spirits today. If were still talking about reading and stuff... I usually read about 4-5 books a yr. I keep the number small because I'm not including textbooks and all. (which will put me to sleep faster than fiction) I read a lot more during the summer months, due to it being so nice outside. I love to sit on the back porch and with the pets under shade and just waste the time away. Especially if it's too hot out to run or do anything else.

Saling--

the harry potter series were pretty good, though the last one was kind of dissappointing. Each book in the series took me less than 3 days to finish. I also like koontz, patterson, and tolkein. Though I liked the 'lord o' rings' book better than the movie, including the Hobbitt.

Oh forgot to mention, (moby dick--> herman melville) my mom grew up about 35 min. from where he wrote the book. I actually toured his home a few years back. He used to lock himself in his study and his sister would knock on the door and keep knocking until would get up and answer it. He was famous for not eating due to his intense writing habit and locking himself away for days on end. She'd have to drag him out just to eat.

Josh,  That is pretty interesting.  I definitely didn't know Melvilles' eating habits while writing.

Enders:  Glad to see you were working hard all day....yeah right!!!

Abbie:  Let me make sure we have this picture right.  You now have saggy drawers and a wrinkly bra...GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Hi all,

Heading into the weekend, and probably won't post again until next week. I did want to post one positive development.

Although generally Passover food is not particularly healthy, or at least it elimiantes some of the healthy foods I eat, I have managed to lose weight so far. The cause: easy, I don't bring junk food snacks to the office ever. My co-workers however, do, and lay out jars of candy etc. in the workroom. I often can' t resist. Now, however, they aren't kosher for passover so I can't touch them. I am guessing that is what is making the difference.

As of today I am only 1.2 pounds away from my goal of 150lbs that I have been struggling for since the beginning of 2008. So-close. I hope to be able to share good news with you in the next couple weeks that I have gotten there.

What's even more interesting is that the large barn and stables they have out back on his property, were turned into a makeshift giftshop, without adding a single luxury like drywall, or a weather proof door. It looks like the barn from 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre', all creepy and stuff. There is no register, you have to trust that the redneck behind the picnic table knows more than just using his fingers and toes.

Why? Are people from the Berkshires not supposed to have any??? One last tibbit, I think he lived there with his mom, sister, wife, and I'm not sure if he had children or not. But man, I'd choose team skinny on any day of the month than to be in close quarters with three women without certain ammenities during that time. I wonder who actually ran the household since the deed was in his name.
