Meeeee!!! I don't know if I completely buy the whole "Ben really cares about Alex" thing, but I suppose it's possible. He was brought to the island as a kid and basically turned into a sociopath due to his surroundings, so there might be a shred of humanity left in him.

Nice to see the scary smoke monster kick some - Ben can summon it to do his bidding? Wtf?? I really want them to go see Jacob, so they can explain that whole thing.

Glad Claire is still alive - at this point, anyway.

Yeah, but funny how Claire's house can be blown apart to the bare studs, yet she's barely stunned.

the bear - 2008-04-25 5:18 AM Yeah, but funny how Claire's house can be blown apart to the bare studs, yet she's barely stunned.

How could survive that?

How could the guys in the woods pick off a few unknown Losties, but Sawyer can run around? Oh, and hiding behind that rotted out wood picnic table will probably stop all the bullets.

I did enjoy the show though.

So does Ben control the smoke monster - - or just know how to summon it?

Haha, yeah, I figured Claire was toast after her house blew up. And I did think it was funny how they picked off the other random losties - guess they have to weed out the rest of the random cast members. I mean, 40something people crashed on the island and they didn't all die within the first week, so we know there were others floating around - we just never see them.

So how did Ben end up in the desert??? That was weird.

So how did Ben end up in the desert??? That was weird.

I just figured it was more of the time travel/parallel universe thing. He seemed surprised or stunned when he woke up in the middle of the desert.  And he was wearing a Dharma parka so he didn't come from the island unless he put it on because he expected to travel to somewhere cold. Oh, and whatever happened to him sort of explains why there were polar bears in the desert. (remember that episode?)

I thought it was a good episode overall. After waiting a month for it to come back on I'm glad they didn't disappoint!

I wondered if maybe that's how it happened. And that would certainly explain why he had to ask the girl at the hotel in Tunisia what the date was.

On the island, it's ~December 2004, so this is in the future, a flash-forward for Ben and Sayid. In 10 months, Sayid has had time escape from the islan, find Nadia, marry her, and lose her to a murderer. Busy man.

I think they need Sayid to get back to the island to start "interrogating" some of the boat people. Jack seemed like such a good leader in the beginner, but now is so gullible and trusting with both Juliet (who knows a hell of a lot more than she's telling) and with these boat people.

I don't see how they could go so long without demanding answers (which it seems like they are finally starting to do).

Reminds me, what's up with Jack's stomach pains? Has he possibly been poisoned?

Kate had the best line, when Jack said he felt it in his gut that they were getting off the island, she says, "Well, isn't your gut sick?"

Rememer how Michael kept trying to kill himself but The Island wouldn't let him?  I got the feeling the same thing was going on with Sawyer and Claire.  Because otherwise that scene was worse than the A-Team.

And when Ben said 'he changed the rules', even though we find out later it was Widmore, my first thought was that he was talking about Jacob, like somehow Ben knew that nothing bad could happen to Alex (maybe flashes of the future like Desmond?) and when it did he was stunned.

My bf was like "no way the fire would be put out so quickly... " Bf, the realist.

Jack's stomach ache - may be Jacky is pregnant!

In the preview for next week we see what's her name (the doc) telling someone (I assume is Kate) that Jack is having appendicitis.

Anyone watch Buffy?  Remember the series finale when we think the Scoobies were planning the "final attack" but instead were playing Dungeons and Dragons?  Ha!

Once I heard Sawyer and Hurley talking in game code I knew it wasn't in regards to an actual attack but a board game.  FWIW, one of the ex producers of Lost was a Buffy scribe.

I think Ben did care for his step daughter.
