i felt sorry for the extra losties who got shot by Captain Commando and friends. when they ran out of the house, i was like, "who are they?....oh, well, now they're dead, we'll never know."

the return of the black smoke was pretty bada$$. don't remember it ever being quite so big.

why couldn't ben kill widmore? part of "the rules"? and when did ben get those hand-to-hand combat skillz? always a surprise with that one. that was more of a surprise than the time/space travel he seems to be capable of doing.

and that guy didn't really kill sayid's wife, did he? just more of ben's machinations?

That's what I'm guessing. He's obviously using Sayid to kill all sorts of folks (as we've seen in past flash-forwards), preying on Sayid's torment between losing Nadia (twice now) and his sadistic tendencies - perhaps to finally use him to kill Penelope? And that will go horribly wrong, I bet, because Sayid and Desmond are/were buddies (we don't know what happens to Desmond; since he wasn't on the plane, he might very well get off the island and not be part of the "Oceanic 6", as Ben is not).
