I enjoy the foam roller.  It can be intense sometimes but it is also good for a general back crackin'

I just got my foam roller today from Perform Better!! I got the black one since it is supposed to last longer.

I found sooooo many knots in my legs. The worst was along my IT band. I was about in tears when doing those. I can't even put my full weight on them, they hurt that bad.

Is it good or bad that I am so tight? I started HIM training about three weeks ago, so I wonder if I might be over training, or if this is normal.

Either way, I feel pretty good now after a stretch. I am thinking about getting back on it later tonight and trying my IT band again... but I am scared of the pain... I know I just need to HTFU

Not only are foam rollers great for massages, they are also great for core workouts. We use them all the time for core strengtheing and lumbo-sacral stability.

Neither good or bad...totally normal. Just keep working on them. If you work on your hips more at the beginning, you'll find it'll be a lot easier when going down the ITB.

I went ahead and did a second rolling session last night before bed. Again, it hurt really bad almost to the point of tears. I did some stretching afterwards and then relaxed in bed. I was still sore and hurting. This morning, I woke up feeling as if I had a fresh pair of legs installed! I am really loose and flexible. This silly looking thing really does work. Later today, I am biking for about an hour a half, so that will be a good test of how well it worked.

Exactly, thats what I thought of it when I bought it..I felt like, yeah I'm spending money on this silly looking piece of foam..what in the world! But then, I started rolling around on it..finding all sorts of speed bumps on my back and I am now a believer :-)

I have a problem with my IT bands tightening up, so my brother let me use his foam roller and it worked wonders. I eventually got one for myself and use after bricks.

Wow, rolling on bricks sounds painful!
