I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but the Trials are on USA in about 20 minutes.  I mean we could all learn running efficiency from Alan Webb, so maybe it could be a BT thing to watch the Men's 800m.

Even though, I'm guessing not many watched.  The Women's 10k was phenomenal, Amy Begley gave the kind of performance that shows the kind of character an Olympian should have.

I was glad to see the three top finishers in the 10K get the "A" standard.  Flanagan has one the fastest time in the world this year.  She was a minute off of that result, however.   A friend of mine has the best throw in qualifying and was above the "A".  I am so happy for her.  If her throw holds in the top three, this would be her 2nd Olympics.

I like the obscure times for the televised schedule.   It seems most nights are highlight shows; nothing live.  But, at least it's on TV.

I thought that Ryan Shay's wife was running in the 10k, but I didn't see her name in the results.  Was I confused on the event, or did she decide not to compete?

I just went to Runner's World looking for the results. As of last month she was supposed to be competing. I haven't heard anything. I wonder if she got injured.

Found it.  She's injured.  Man, that really sucks, I was pulling for her to do well.

Injured Shay to miss upcoming Track Trials.

Last night they had a feature on the Shay Family.  It was pretty cool, and it touched on why she wouldn't be competing.  She got hurt about a month ago, but said she still isn't done. I guess the Hall family had some great influence.

Tegenkamp, an ex-UW Madison runner, took 1st in his heat for the 5K and will race on Mon. night.  Chris Solinsky advanced in his heat, too, another ex- UW Madison runner.  A local boy from the Madison area took 2nd behind Tegenkamp.

I hope to catch that final!

Yeah, Wisconsin is well represented in that final.  There are also two KY guys, Robert Curtis and Thomas Morgan, who I ran against in HS.

Only in competition or when being harassed by USADA.  Otherwise, he is the nicest calmest funniest guy.

Yeah, that's what I mean.  I love the way he goes out in the sector before and the comes back to the ring and gets the crowd into it.

A tornado couldn't have moved me that fast. wind-aided asterisks seem a tad silly to me for short distances.

My stinking DVR did not record for some reason. I am so sick of this thing doing that. I prioritized it over another show but it still recorded the wrong thing. I am going to make sure I am available to watch the old fashioned way tomorrow.

How about Tyson Gay's throw back stylings?  I recognize the old uniform look.  But, don't quite understand the need for the tribute.  It's still cool though.

I like the sprintsuit that suppose to help support the legs and core.  Interesting concept though.  And, an interesting look.

Sorry, it's the biomechanical geek in me.......
