jmk-brooklyn - 2008-07-16 10:38 PM Coppertone sport 30.

Thats what I use, in the spray can.

Works great as long as you put it on BEFORE the race.. as I learned this past weekend. Lets just say you can wash your race number off, but if its sunburned into your arm its gonna be there awhile

I have sun sensitivity so I have done my fair share of experimenting with different brands of sunscreen.  My recommendation is for Blue Lizard... they have a face specific "suncream" that won't sting your eyes, but all of their products are excellent.  I order it online; however, you might be able to find it at CVS.  It's a little pricey but worth it, IMO.

I too would recommend the Coppertone sport. I did a longer ride the other day and spent 4.5 hours in the direct sun and it held up well and did its job. It says it's sweat-proof and I've never really had a problem with that at all.

Another vote for Bullfrog spray. Like another poster said, put it on before you get bodymarked.

I chose Banana Boat Sport over Coppertone Sport because it was a 15 SPF and Coppertone was a 30.  Hey, I don't mind getting a little sun.

That was a mistake.  It was very runny, smelled chemically and kinda burned.  I'll be going back for the Coppertone soon.

Good luck in your first tri this weekend.  It will truly be a moment you'll never forget.

I'm a fan of the sprays, but make sure you get one that says "Continuous Spray" on it because there are also some that say spray but are more like a lotion.  The continous spray ones are like an alcohol mist.  Great coverage and very easy to put on.  I use 30 SPF.

I just tried a new brand on the weekend, I think it was called Kynesis (spelling?) It was very easy to put on, non-oily, and lasted most of the day. Its expensive, but I will definetly try it again

Hawaiian Tropic spf 45 is the best I've found. It's much thicker than others so put it on early before body marking. I have a pretty fair complexion, so the Coppertone 30 doesn't cut it for me. I've had some really bad sunburns while using is, and it stings my eyes. Bullfrog is pretty good as well.

I've used the coppertone 30 continuous spray, and I don't like the way it feels on my skin. Also, I seem to tan MORE with it than I do without sunscreen, so I'm kind of dubious about it's sunblocking powers. I'm convinced it's more like putting baby oil on.

I'm really fair and burn in about 5 minutes and I also like the Coppertone Sport. I have to use the SPF 50 though so it's a little heavy. I put this on before a workout or race, and then keep the SPF 30 continuous spray in transition to get one more covering on my back before heading out on the bike. It takes just a couple seconds to spray on. It makes body marking run and transfer a little, but who cares as long as you're not frying.

Blue Lizard Baby is one of the best - it's a physical blocker:

Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (5%) (Sunscreen), Zinc Oxide (10%) (Sunscreen)

Has no fragrance and deemed very safe.

Another vote for copper tone sport 30 spray. Just make sure you get your lower back. Went out for a couple hours today wearing my tri jersey and I have a nice little strip of skin on my lower back completely fried.

Another fan of this stuff. I've used it during the middle of the day in Phoenix for hours at a time, as well as for a week straight while at 15,000-18,000 ft on snow and ice. No burns!

Okay so not to hijack this thread but the key to not have your body numbers run is to put the sunscreen on BEFORE body marking?  Or is it the other way around?
