Swim
Comments: All males went off together. Bumped into a lot of people, which was discouraging. Swam consistantly up to the 220m mark (second bouy). Began to lay back to let the crowd get away. What would you do differently?: Try not to worry about bumping into people and getting bumped. Transition 1
Comments: Need to have helmet buckled prior to leaving transition. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Came to a complete stop prior to dismounting. Cramped up in left calf at the transition start. Got past by five or six racers during T2. Left race belt back at bike rack had to return to bike to retrieve. Lost time and spots to racers. What would you do differently?: Focus on what needs to be done during transition. Think about shoes, belt, sunglasses, shirt, etc. Have a plan. Run
Comments: Carried gel pack and fuel belt water bottle. Didn't use either. Past a few racers and got past. Gave up spots to three or four female runners. Finished the entire race w/o stopping. Had a little gas at end to push pace. What would you do differently?: Keep training with brick workouts. Post race
Warm down: Went to water and took a dip. Two water, one Gatorade, banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor T2. Slowed down during swim due to the number of swimmers bumping. Last updated: 2008-07-26 12:00 AM
