Extreme Veteran 603 Glasgow, UK | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Starting Weight 198.8 Target 190 This is going to be tough as I'm starting a new job which involves many more hours traveling but I'm still hoping to keep up the training and weight loss. Goals other than weight loss are to concentrate on getting my running faster and coping with additional distance and put time into swimming. Bring it on and go team Blue! |

Master 1887 Loveland, Ohio | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Hey, ya'll! Looking forward to a great month. Since I joined the challenge last month, I only lost .5 pound in the end, which is still a loss and commendable nonetheless. HOWEVER, what was even more great was how my training started kicking butt (except the last week). Starting: 125.5 Goal: 122 |

Extreme Veteran 477 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Still looking to get under 160. August start 167.5# Goal 159.5# Lose 8# This month I'm going to try and cut my calories by 100 and see how it goes, and cut it another hundered if needed in a couple of weeks. Also going to cut out the soda-I'm addicted. All ready tapering down my consumption. This weekend will be tough and tempting as we're on the road traveling. Also going to actually swim this month and try to stay on top of workouts and not use the heat as an excuse. |

Champion 5807 Henderson NV | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Jenni4: I was a soda addict as well. So I understand, but you can overcome. I started out drinking 5-6 soda's a day (64+ oz), then went to 64 oz a week and lots of water, then went to a soda on Sat as a reward. Now if I have a soda once a month I am surprised. Try some flavored water or if it is the caffeine you miss drink black coffee. Good luck and I know you can kick the sugar addiction.
100 cals a day equals less than 1 lb in a month. So your training will have to bump up to cover 24,500 cals. To put that into perspective, It is an extra 245 miles a month running....whew. Edited by saling4 2008-08-01 8:45 AM |

Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Well it seems that I'm stuck at another weight block, the lowest I've gotten was 183. First, I need to get back there then, surpass it. So for the month of August I'd like to get to 180 or hit 183 again. Some more good news, I received another grant. So at this point it totals almost $7,000 for the coming 3 qtrs. |

Expert 1158 Ocala, Florida | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner well not a good number on the scale this morning.... 191 lbs. doesn't really surprise me since i've been working alot this week and have only worked out minimally. plus eating dinner at 8pm doesn't help. so..... starting at 191 this month and the goal is to get down to 186. |
