Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Today we finished the demo stage of the bathroom... Now we're in a holding pattern till Weds. (waiting on a plumber to install the whirlpool), when that's done --> we go to some minor plumbing ourselves, and prepping the room w/ extra studs (where needed), then go straight to drywall/taping/mudding. Actually, I forgot, we also have some 70's tile on the floor that needs to be pulled up. The idiots who did the last remodel decided it would be faster to carpet over it! which leaves me with another 4 hour job of bent over/back breaking drill work(hammer drill w/ chisel) as the tiles are extremely hard to get up. I think the mastic has semi-petrified. During some of the demo, we found a lot of mold, because the genius's didn't even use backer/green board behind the shower walls. So I'm wondering if I've inhaled any spores (you know, thinking of all the running I do [yeah right !], and whether or not my lung capacity has diminished any). On a lighter note[literally], I actually feel lighter today. (Not weighing as much) Not sure if it's because my stomach is empty or if I'm dehydrated or what. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to confirm this morning.... Hoping I'll have time when Weds. rolls around. Edited by i146q 2008-08-24 10:24 PM |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner Weirdest thing - I hardly drank this weekend. Had a couple of glasses of wine on Friday afternoon and then one teeny margarita on Saturday. That's it. Sugar Daddy was in martini mode (which I don't like), so I just sat it out. Doesn't mean I weigh any less...but it isn't 'cause the wine. Happy Monday, Skinnies! |

That 70's tile came up a lot easier than I thought it would. But with the AC on the fritz again, it certainly felt like a full days' work. Plus had to unload the trailer with all the demo'd drywall/tile (all 1380 lbs. of it). |

Aren't you one sided You're the only one aloud to drink! I know you train hard, working most of it back off, but...??? (J/k) Come Day 1 of this next training period, I'm going to swear off Alcohol for at least 90 days... Besides, I don't think I'm going to have much time for it anyway. So why not chalk it up to will power, right? |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner How 'come the Skinnies have been so quiet? OK, I am NOT going to make my goal for this month. I've had a terrible summer and I can't seem to get anywhere nearer to the magic 140 number. I'm crabby about it, because it is pretty much all my fault. I will live through the end of this month and my last tri of the season on Sept. 7 and then I'm buckling down. I'm shifting into winter run-mode, which usually helps me lose more weight - and training for a half-mary in November. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. |

Extreme Veteran 378 Really South | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner I am headed out of town this afternoon so I weighed this morning. Weight was 142 - not a gain and not a loss. I have been eating really bad lately so I was glad to not see a gain. |

I can't seem to get back on the loss bandwagon...I'm frustrated! However, I know what the problem is...I moved home at the beginning of Aug and now have access to all kinds of foods in amounts for more than 1 person..it was so much easier being on my own! |

I guess that's where will power comes in! Have you tried making a menu for the wk? One thing that has always helped me is to try to stay busy. Theory being that most people tend to sit down and veg, then eat, and sometimes uncontrollably. So let's get that under control. Stay busy, keep moving, it should help burn more calories, as well as keeping the food out of your face. |

Member 46 Chicago suburbs | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner I don't usually make menus-I do pretty well at individual meals..it's the sitting around that you mentioned that kills me, so yea, thanks for the advice-that will be my new goal for the coming weeks-to keep myself busy. My other problem: after dinner I crave sweets uncontrollably. I feel like it's more of a behavioral thing because growing up my family had dessert after every dinner. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? The best I have done is to eat a 60 cal fudgecicle as a substitute for a big bowl of ice cream |

Champion 5807 Henderson NV | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Aug 2008) Turning the Corner bkelly: Sitting around will get me everytime so I keep a BIG glass of water in my hand at all times. As far as sweets, Try popsicles or make your own. That way you can eat the whole thing or break it in half and ween yourself. Something salty might break the sweet craving as well. |
