How many races do you do a season?

I average 6 tris per year; this year 4 OD's and 2 sprints.

In addition I'll do a run race or two, some TT's, maybe some crits and I'm looking at doing a master's swim meet.

I do as many local races as my life, schedule and training will allow, and add out-of-town races that meet my goals and desires.

This year has been run focused for me. I've PRed the following: 2 miles, 5K, 4 miles, 5 miles, 10K, 12K, 8 miles, 10 miles, 20K, half marathon, marathon. During those races I've won my AG 2 times and placed 3 other times. In addition I've run numerous other races, and did 3 TTs - one that I won. I never got to the pool this year and thus no tris, but I am doing a du next month. In total, by the end of the year I will have done about 30 races.

In past years I have done as many as 7 tris and most often 5 per year. I would do many more if they were more local.

There are so many cycling races each week.

I usually do the Tuesday and Thursday weekly criteriums, but treat those as training, then sometimes 1-3 per weekend and sometimes none on the weekends. , so I'd average about 3 per week in the spring & summer and 0.5 per week in the fall and winter.

This year, I scheduled 4 tris and 2 dus.  My last race, a du, is next month.  It worked out to one a month from April to Sept.  I could do more but with my DH in the sport too, entry fees get a little pricey.   It's also nice to have a little down time between races. 

I have 1 more left this season.  It will my 7th for the year one was a HIM.  6 is about average not including the HIM.
