Sunday, October 12th.

Pool swim (indoor or out?), bike and run around campus.

The positives - Its MSU folks!  If I'm there, I'll buy a round at PT's and some gyros from Lou and Harry's.  I love East Lansing.

The negatives - Its 3D, first year, and a pool swim.

Thoughts?

I'd love to do it, but I have a wedding to go to the night before.

And as far as the 3D thing I can't complain at all. They seemed to run the Sanford & Sun tri really well this year. But, it was also my first tri so I have no experience to speak for any others.

I have been toying with either this or the spooky duathlon at Belle Isle to try my new bike out.

And its my daughter and all her friend's 1st year at MSU so I would have a built-in cheering squad.  Hhhmmmm!

I don't think so!  All 5 of you should race like the family of three in GM.  Or you, and the two older boys can go on your own, and Dave can pull Z in the dinghy, trailer, stroller.

Matt,

I am also thinking about doing this (my son is still in East Lansing), but we were considering going to Chicago that weekend to watch the football team play Northwestern. Chicago is always a GREAT time!

So it is a definite maybe. I would like to do one more!!!!!

How do they work a pool swim? A buddy was asking me about doing this with him.  I am leaning towards it just because I am new to the Tri world, but I agree with the 3D comment.  Done 2 of there events this summer and yet to be impressed.

Heya, I posted basic info about this here a bit ago here :

I think I'm in too... I stopped swimming (cancelled my Y membership).

I've got a half-mary the 28th.  But I'd love to do this race too!!

I did this race.

I'm not too fond of 3D, as I've had four races and the one run by 3D previously was run a bit shabbily. But this one was run much better, as it was a small race with lots of volunteers.

My race report is here: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=137668&posts=1&start=1

I'm definately doing it again next year, especially if it stay cheap.
