After all they hype it is finally here. I cannot believe that they didn't have it ready for TdF or at least the Olympics. It does look totally bad a$$ though. The stem is crazy thin looking.

Interesting how they say the water bottle can be swapped for a toolbox for DA7900 batteries, but the only way they're making the bike available is as a frameset or with SRAM Red.

Just got an EMail from SBR Sports with a pic of the beast.

I think it will need to grow on me a bit. (Does not do as much for me as some other Cervelo Bikes)

Interesting that they chose to do what Felt has been doing for a while with the rear brake. (It looks like it is down low on the chainstays)

I had heard that one of the biggest reasons why the P3 is so much more expensive is because of the complexity of the Carbon Layups for the Rear Triangle and I would suspect this thing is not much easier to fabricate.

Glad to see that it is finally here but I wish they had it in red

Why the water bottle? That's my question . . . it's just kinda weird.

That is what I thought too until I went to the website and checked out the detailed images of how they did it.

They have a cutout behind the bottom bracket where the calipers sit and the brakes are effectively inside of the chainstays. It looks like there is a little cover for the cutout to smooth things over. (Letting the BB completely hide the whole mechanism from the wind)

Felt has the brake above the chain stays, the P4's are IN the chain stays.

It's a fairing.  It's to smooth over the air flow to that area and reduce abrupt changes in shape.

Ehhhh.  The hidden rear brakes are interesting, the shaped fairing, ala Specialized is nice.  The waterbottle.....Buy a P3 and a Speedfill, and you'd have 2x the capacity, for $1000 less?

I hate to say it, im disappointed.

Agreed.  It doesn't do that much for me right now, but some of the other bikes have grown on me more.  Maybe this one will, too.  Definitely out of my price range though.

It's a nice bike, really "simple" paint scheme for what I'm used to seeing in cervelo's.  It is definetly out of my price range.

Hopefully we will see some used  P2's and P3's for sale at a decent price.  Just need towait until december, when the P4 becomes available.

"Hey, we forgot to tell you, we need P4 graphics for Wednesdays announcement, can you slap something together?"

meh on the whole thing, I will continue to love my Dual and stare longingly at the P2C.

3rd.  Blah.  Nothing new.

Of course, I'd gladly take it if you gave it to me.

I can't say I like it much.  It's kind of flimsy looking.

It's obviously been designed to act as a pure TT bike rather than something you're likely to see at long distance triathlons.  The 570ml water bottle is ample for any TT (TdF, Olympics, Worlds etc.) but for anything longer (such as an IM) then you're going to have to use some kind of behind the seat system anyway.

Wow, that was disappointing.  The only good thing is hopefully a P4 model means the P3 will drop in price eventually...

P4 with Dura-Ace gruppo will cost North of $7K.
I can buy a new BMW motorcycle for that kind of money. Cervelo makes great bikes and I ride a P2C but at this price point it will be interesting how many they will sell.

Unless nobody buys the P4 because they don't like it, in which case they will have to continue to make money on the P3...

Luvs it...  I love the geometry, clean lines, graphics and color.  It's simply elegant.  Maybe by 2010, I'll have the funds and have completed my pilgrimage to Boston... The 670mL bottle is about 19.2oz, similar to a standard caged bottle.  Perfect for an oly, as with this ride, the 24.9 miles would be over in 60 minutes!

I'll bet that is more than 1/2 the plan based on the pricepoint of the frameset.  They aren't expecting to make many.
