Anyone at any level can do this.  There is a site that outlines your workout schedule according to how many pushups you can do initially.

www.hundredpushups.com

Follow the workouts - 3x a week - should only take 5 - 10 minutes of your day.   You are working your chest, back, bi's, tri's and core!!

Who wouldn't like to be able to do 100 consecutive push-ups in only 6 weeks???

Who's IN????

I like this alot and I'm in!  I need to work on core and some weights this winter.  My son will want to do this too.  We'll start this weekend.  Will there be a spreadsheet or just check in here?

Thanks!!!

There have been a few challenges in the strength training section, too.  Might want to see if anyone is interested there.

You can check in here, mark your blog - or we'll check up on you.  But the site has a "pushup logger" that you can also use.

I'm in for the challenge. Bring on the core workouts, it's almost winter! MI area BTers, we should definitely find a place to have the final 100 countdown.

There's a pushup logger? Beyond just in the ST section? I'm doing 80-100 pushups a day (not continuous), just logging it all under ST.

Want to hear something funny?  A few years ago when I was in the Army, I could do 54 push ups (yes, male/military style) in 2 minutes and now I can barely do 10!  Must...find...muscles...again ~ Count me in!

I'm in. I've just gotten back into strength training the last 2 weeks but haven't done any pushups to speak of in months.

since you are doing my peach challenge, it's only fair that I join yours!  I did not read the link yet, do girl push-ups count?  I can do the other ones, just not as many.

I'm going to do it as well.

Abbie - I'd look at the website but I think girl pushups do count.  My opinion, which may be misguided, is that you should never do girl pushups if you ever want to do 'real' pushups.  If you have to, do pushups on an incline (stairs, bench, step) until you can do them on a floor.  I think overall its better training.

I'm in.  I officially start on Monday but I already started last night.  Max so far (last set is to the max) was 17.  I've also started doing core exercises and simplefit.org too as part of my 3x week core and strength workout.

OK I'm up for this too. I've never been able to get close to 100 and six weeks of strength training would do me good

Count me in on this one, I'll start the challenge after work tonight.

6 weeks out will end on Thanksgiving which should be a good time for celebration!

Nice to see so many people showing interest in the push ups plan.

Just to let you know this morning I launched a downloadable PocketMod of the six week plan:

http://hundredpushups.com/complete.html

Print, fold and take it with you wherever you go...

Good luck!

OK...I'm in.  I'm starting strength and core work on Monday but may try and do my test today or tomorrow.  I have a 14 miler tomorrow A.M. so I don't want to mess with that.

Steve

Edit:  Just did the test and I got 20 which recommends, for 55 and over, I start at week 3...ain't going to happen...I am starting at week one and calling the test number as 18-19 so I can build slowly.

Good luck to everyone.
