I'll be first today. I'm up early so I can run 24 miles. My last full training run before I start to taper for my marathon on 3/19/05. Good luck to all who are racing this week-end!

I hope to get in a swim and bike today. It will be a nice bike day-it's beautiful here. I had my first minor bike crash yesterday, so maybe my ride will go better today ;-)

Wow, Sue, a 24-mile training run? Good luck with that!

3-miler for me, just to get the blood going through the legs, half-marathon tomorrow. Time to pack up the ol' laptop and hit the road to the Big Easy!

Oh, getting my motivation together to go do a "short" bike ride. I think I'll go my normal route... it's mostly flat, but with one tough hill. I'm actually considering going up the hill a couple of times to get so strength work in. Depends on how my legs feel.

That's it for today.

Resting and eating carbs today. Tomorrow is the Hypothermic Half Marathon, so I'm saving my strength. Good luck to all the other racers out there this weekend. Seems like a lot of us!

Good friend in from Wisconsin this weekend so we did a long run this morning... nice, slow conversational pace -- did just under 7 miles (she had never run more than 5 miles, so I decided to show her what she was capable of -- and she was amazed that she did it!)  Great run.  And pretty nice 32 degree weather for a Chicago February.

24 miles (38.4K) WOW! I went for 25.2K (15.75 m) this morning and it took forever just starting a 12 week program for my first mary on May 29. Good luck with the taper and the race.

I went to watch my wife and a friend run a 5k this morning. She took 1st in her age group! Our friend took 1st in hers as well. I think my wife was 4th overall in womens (a pair of very young girls past her at the end).I had a pleasant bike ride this afternoon. I would love to go running, but Saturday chores will take priority today.Ditto the wow on the 24 mile run. I didn't even bike 24 miles today.

Right on! You all are inspirational...I, on the other hand, went running last Sunday and ended up rolling my ankle over not once but TWICE! Thank goodness my friends are a doctor and her husband (a PT)...needless to say I have given my life over to him...Today is the first day since Sunday that he has let me do anything--and I am going swimming (FINALLY!) at 5:00...

Going from swimming every day with spinning and running throughout the week to nothing has been TOUGH...
