What race are you doing to "shake the cobwebs" out? I have a sprint in May that I'll use as a fitness indicator (I did the exact same one/same course last spring).

Im doing a sprint tri in april to get my feet wet into the sport and assess what type of training I need to focus on. In May, if I am home my wife and I are going to do a two mile fun run as her first race of any sort ever to see how she fares after being on the couch to 5k.

I payed for a 10k in April, thinking I would need stimulus to work on my running, then an open water sprint in May to kick of the triathlon season.  Key races: first oly distance in June, 1/2 marathon in September.

I just signed up for a duathlon this weekend, March 5th.  It'll be my first venture into endurance racing, if a 3.1 mile run/ 13 mile bike/ 3.1 mile run is considered an endurance event.  I'm still commited to my first tri on April 30th.  Actually, that's about all the farther I've planned my season so far.

Saint Anthony's is my first race of the season. Nothing like going for the big event right off the bat.

8 weeks to go, and I'm slow as crap right now.

Another outdoor bike day will bite the dust tomorrow as we're getting 6" to 10" of snow tonight. :-(

Hello Computrainer!!!!

I'm headed to the Athens, TX, YMCA tri on March 12th.

Lance should be pretty worried that his course record will fall! ;-)

I'm going to sunny Florida for St. Anthony's in late April. Olympic distance with an ocean swim. It sure beats Kansas.

Our first race this season is the father/daughter dual at the Meek & Mighty super sprint race in St. Pete, the day before St. Anthony's.

Probably the Kinetic in April.  It will be my first. I'm still not sure about a wetsuit or not yet.  Trilover, if you run that one, do you wear a wetsuit?

i plan on doing the Kinetic also.  They estimate water temps in the mid to upper 60s I think.  Definitely still in the wetsuit range.

No shakedown race for me. I'm jumping in head first with the AZ Extreme Desert Xterra tri on April 24. 1600m swim, 18 mi mountain bike, 4.5 mi trail run. It'll be my first race where I have to swim in a lake and wear a wetsuit.

I'm doing a 10k in April as my first "race".  My first tri will be a sprint in May.  Then, a bike leg of a relay for an oly.  Focus is on my oly in June (Philly Tri).

last weekend. 1st annual (is that possible? ) Stanford Treeathlon. one crash, two mechanicals, still finished 2 min over my goal. not to bad.

I was suprised at my run. it was a 5k run, and at mile 2.5 I was really hitting my pace. bodes well for the season

Gratz Zakk!

My first race will be my A race for the season -- Wildflower Oly, May 1. Unless I decide to do the TBF Ice Breaker sprint in early April.

Been training pretty hard these last 4-5 weeks. I'm starting to feel good about it. But maybe a sprint before hand will give me a little more confidence. I'm really worried about the increase in distance.

I'm doing the swim leg of the Strawberry Fields Triathlon (a sprint distance race) in two weeks, then I'm following that up with the California Half IM a week after that! Strawberry Fields is just to get some open water experience for the Half IM and to get a couple of buddies into their first triathlon race.

You are suppose to do a shake out race?  Oh lord.....

I'm jumping in with the Florida Half Ironman.  What better way to start the season than by securing my Kona spot at the first outing.  HAHAHAHA Well - It could happen if I can drop about 4 min/mile in the next couple of months.
