$2.65/mo at ballys.  been there since 88.  i'll probably never give that one up unless they pull a stunt and try to raise my rates.

Yeah, I think I'd be hanging on to that one as long as I possibly could! For as much as I hate my Bally's...that's a deal I wouldn't be able to pass up.

~$10,000 annually.

Or $0, since technically it's included in my tuition that I'll be paying anyway. Great facilities, but if you go at the wrong time you have to put up with the frat boy/sorority slut meat market.

Weight Room  - $0  I'm a volunteer fireman so I get free access to a nice weight room with cardio and no lines.

Swimming Pool - $0  My wife is the park and rec director, so I pay for my pool fees by being her volunteer committee.  (scorekeeping youth basketball, hiding easter eggs, doing minor pool maintenance,  softball field prep,  help organizing a local bicycle tour, etc.....)

I pay 79.00 a month for Family membership at the Y - it includes full access to the 17 Y's in the Hampton Roads, VA area, which is good for me because I work in Suffolk, VA a couple of times a week, so I use the Y there and am not disrupted from training by working out of town....

Classy. I suppose the men are not sluts because, well, why exactly?

Because the word is technically defined as and most frequently used in reference to a female?

Not defending the use, and I'm sure there's a male equivalent that can be used if the OP chose to...

The frat boys are man-whores. But I figured that was just assumed for all of them. Meawhile, there are plenty of sororities which do not fit the slut category (thus necessitating my additional descriptor). But they're not in my gym during the 5:00-8:00 hours.

ultrahip_00 - 2009-01-13 6:49 AM i just bought a coupon from costco for 2 years at 24 hr fitness for $300 (comes out to $12.50/month).  i wanted to join gold;s gym out here, but it was $69/month and $300 to join

I belong to the Gold's that you looked at, however, I got in with no joining fee and $30/month for three gyms, of which I use 2 very regularly in the cold weather season.  I pay an extra $35/mo for unlimited child care....so 5 days x 2 hrs/day x 4 weeks= 40 hours, less than $1 hr for childcare.  Best deal for me!

Zero. I've never belonged to one. (One of the advantages of living in Southern California, I guess.)

My wife and I both do lap swims at a community pool near us--$2 per session. She does have access to a brand-new state-of-the-art corporate health center (no pool there)...only pays for a locker rental, like $120 a year or something like that...I guess we're doubly lucky.

$50/month to belong to the South's largest and best run health club. We have four pools, so no natatorium needed. I think I still remember where they are.

Cost, of course, is going to be relative to where you live. $46 in Alabama is going to be like $200 in NYC.

Cool club - I inspected it last year!

Any of the city's YMCA's are free through my insurance (Spin classes some of the swimming)

Natatorium - swimfit Masters $28/mo for YMCA members (48 for non-members)

National Institute for Fitness and Sport - indoor running track (almost as bad as a treadmill but not as bad as the -3F that it is outside today), spin bikes etc   $46/mo.

With all of the sundry of facilities scattered about the city I have no excuse to not get a workout in other than the "lack of time".

I paid around $650 for a 3 year prepaid membership last April at 25 hour fitness.  The membership is an all club membership so I can go to any club anywhere in the United States.  I've probably been to a dozen different ones throughout the state and in a couple other states.  The membership came with 4 personal training sessions, which were great.

But the best thing is that the renewal fees will be $49 per year, which equals a few cents more than $4 per month.  They said that they have never increased the renewal fees but if they ever decide to the contract says the most they can increase them is $5 per year as long as I renew every year with no interruption.  Now that's an incredible deal.
