Champion 9430 No excuses! | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love So it is weigh in day huh? Well..... 214 on the nose. I feel guilty with that number. It's the lowest I have been in a while but I have not changed many of my bad habits yet and i think it was just a lucky day and the result of the training increasing. Next week I want an honest nice weight loss. |

Veteran 202 Columbia, KY | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love Oh my word, you guys are totally morbid and hilarious at the same time! Yeah, before Leah was so depressed, I was going to tell Josh that I couldn't decide if I should work out twice a day and only eat apples til the end of the month OR just go ahead and shoot myself before I get any older and fall apart!!! JK, I know you meant well, Josh, RIGHT?! And, thanks for the encouragement, saling! By the way, I DID work out twice today...I feel GREAT AND ACCOMPLISHED! (I'll probably gain 4 pounds of muscle this week...which will only be OK if I lose 7 pounds of fat!!!) Edited by custer 2009-02-18 10:32 PM |

Expert 859 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love custer - 2009-02-19 4:38 AM I'm down to 127; I think that's another 2 pounds! I do think, however, that I set my sights too high for this month; I don't see how I could possibly get to 124 by the 28th (I think I had 124 as my goal...what was I thinking?!?!) To you who are older than me (I'm 38)...Is it true that it's harder to lose weight the older you get? It seems like I'm having to work harder at it now than in the past, and it is going much slower! I haven't really found it any harder, I have been up and down throughout my life but the weight I lost after having my baby came off when I was determined enough. I wonder if it's because I've got more comfortable with my body as I've got older (now 46). I have an older sister who has become way too comfortable with hers and if verging on obese. I have a picture of her on my fridge to remind me what I could look like too. I agree with Sailing, you just have to keep a tight grip on it, now if only I could take my own advice. Cead, that's shite about your back, hope it get sorted soon. |

Veteran 455 Limerick, Ireland | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love Hey, First of all I wanted to say that ye are the bestest Teammies ever! I've been feeling fairly depressed this week because of my back and "girly times" are not helping either but ye made me feel better! Now I was still eating loads last night but I'm thinking oat bars are not the worst that is out there. Going to see my physio today and TBH I'm ready to ask ask for anti-inflammatories but I also want some answers - why did it happen? Why is my back sore at night so I can't sleep etc. I'm also bit worried that with such a long break (my friends are coming over on Sat and stayin till Tue) I'll change back into lazy slob I was 4 weeks ago. And I really don't want to - I liked myself when I was training 6 times a week. There was a small happy moment last week - I ordered 2 new swimsuits from Speedo (I couldn't decide which I liked more so I got 2) and one was nearly one and a half sizes too big! Suprisingly the other one was only a bit too big. Anyways, I sent the too big one back with a happy grin on my face |

Veteran 455 Limerick, Ireland | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love Ok so just back from the physio - she said I pulled a joint and my muscles are now all tightend to protect it and bla bla bla (medical jargon) but the conclusion is as follows: I can swim and I quote: HOPEFULLY you should be able to do some LIGHT running and cycling in 2 weeks time. Ooohhh, boll..x! (excuse my language) |

Master 1790 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Feb 09) The month of Love LeahDD - 2009-02-18 4:04 PM I am looking around for something very, very sharp so that I can slit my throat. I was up 2.6 and this is so depressing, even though I know perfectly well that I don't "deserve" to be up 2.6 pounds. So, I have some water weight or something else going on. It still doesn't change the fact that the number written in my WW book was 152.6. Ah, there's a box cutter. Let me tilt my head back and expose my throat and ..... Hmm ... let me help ... I would kill to be at your weight ... hey, if it's not a "real" gain, then next week will be even sweeter. Hang in there, hun. Edited by Offthegrid 2009-02-19 8:11 AM |

Very impressive! My weight when I started was almost exactly where yours was. I weighed about 240ish. My long term goal is to be in the 180s or 170s as well. I'm currently around the 205ish mark. I hope that I can make the same progress that you have. GL with working on the 6 pack..... |

Custer, Things do change as we age, I am 53 next month, but if we keep ourselves in shape it won't be drastic. Metabolism slows and muscle does atrophy BUT that is if you let it. Most studies have shown that if you eat right and do weight training losses are minimum as we age. Our joints stay more lubricated and we can do things others our age can't (that counts for something). We do take longer to recover from a hard effort, but what the heck we earned it so take the time. Would you rather I lie to her!!! You're going to be 16 forever!!! |

Today was at 203! Did I gain 10 lbs this month??? What the heck is going on... I go to the gym! I do excessive amounts of fat/carb burning. I eat fairly well... It's not all chips and soda! Shouldn't I be, at least, maintaining? |
