It sounds like there are quite a few of us scheduled for Corktown.  Who's in?

I'm doing this run with another non BT gal who just started running and started rustling up a whole contingent of other crazies.

Mostly the plan is to sorta run (heh heh), then watch the parade and drink beer ;-)

IN!  I will be running with my non-BT BFF, travlmunky and his lovely wife.  I think said lovely wife will be camelbacking a six-pack while I intend to run with a full beer stein and try to not spill.  travlmunky has agreed to be my domestique.

Good times!

This is one of my favorite races...I'll be there!  And will likely be sticking around afterwards to hit some of the Corktown bars...

Correct you are, Ms. Kimm!

Indeed the Munky/Jorge duo will be there in its best beer-clad fashion. Looking *really* forward to this!! As the date draws near let's figure out a meeting spot.

Here's to replenishing lost carbs with beer!

St Patty's Day is my favorite holiday!  Bring on the green beer and the Irish music.  Plus, green is a good color on me.

I will be carrying my team waterbottle filled with Killians.  I will need the sippy top of the waterbottle on mine as I am not nearly as coordinated as Kimm.

Beer is my favorite race nutrition!   O'jogo

Looks like TwoHearted and I are in for this run.

Now I need any tips on how to plan for the race with where do we meet, parking, drinking beer, or any other handy tips for first timers.

Thanks

Me and my ttp (tri training partner), AndrewB, are in for this one. I've never done this before, but I'm looking forward to it.

Target: less than 30 minutes.

Hey matula, glad to see there's another from my area on BT!  I know of another person in Berkley, too.  We're building a posse!!  YAY!

It surely helps knowing that there are other locals tri-ing. I'm looking forward to washing down those 4 miles with some green beer afterwards.

I'm running with my sister and 4 of her friends.  After...I'll be meeting up with some people at Nemo's for the parade and the post-race drinks.

Plan on sticking around...the parade is cool and you can even BYOB and drink on the streets (if you haven't been down for this before).

heh.  two years ago i was crosiing Michigan with beer in hand and a cop reached out like he was going to take it...and drink it.  He then gave me a huge smile and waved me on.

As for where to park, I've yet to figure that out.  I usually stand across the street from the bar that I cannot remember the name of right now.  LOL

I'll be down there, but not running, as I have been afflicted with the gunjee. I plan to teach the germs the meaning of 0.25 BAL.

I just took a look at the map and really, anywhere on or just off Michigan west of Tiger Stadium would work.  I imagine that Michigan is closed to parking, but you should be able to find ample space right around there, especially at that time.  I wasn't at the parade last year, but the crowd the year before was large, but not huge.

PS:  the bar I was thinking of is The Lagerhouse.  It's right next to the Lodge.

Yeah, we typically just found street parking right around Michigan Ave...since runners usually get there before the parade-goers, there's a decent amount of free parking.  So don't pay to park in a lot.  Though I haven't really peeked at the info. about the new course/starting location, so I'm not sure how far away the Tiger Stadium area is from the start line now.

We'll likely be bringing a cooler down too, along with doing the usual pub hopping.  Nemo's is good, and I think I remember some lodge having good bands and drink prices?  It gets a little fuzzy...
