Who all is getting ready for this race? It's going to be my first tri of the season.

Not planning on it but I think Sabrina is making this her first race of the season so I'll be out there yelling at people at least.

I may change my mind after St. Patty's if I get that itch to race as much as possible.

I think this is going to be my big comeback race. I am finally training again, so it'll be fun to be out on the course again.

I really need to put a tri on my calendar so I'll bike and swim in training... hhhuuummm. But I have to do a 20 mile run that weekend too. Not sure I'm willing to do that. And it only gives me like a month to train for it... AND my cycling has been non-existent. I haven't been swimming either, but that's the easy part for me.

Yeah I am in too, 2nd tri this time. The bike course seems really fast, but yeah I am also surprised by the 25 yd pool setup.

Goals:

Run: sub-9 pace
Transitions:sub-4 minutes

Goal time: 80:30 or better, assuming they changed the bike to 13 miles like they said in a recent email.

I think Gary stole my thread....I need to train...(yeah what he said....)

swim:  1:45/100 (stretch 1:30/100 since it is short 275yd)
bike: 18 (drove the course yesterday...those little rolling hills are possibly going to kill me, might need to target 15 or 16...no, gary might get to the pancakes first)
Run:  Just completing the run - hoping the knee holds up.  hopefully will know where aaron is at so I can pose and make it look as if I am really going fast.

Swim end and transition are really close and should be a nice quick one.

You guys enjoy - this course is not long enough to warrant $20 per sport! Plus the 25 meter pool is going to take a long time to get folks through. Can I come be a race photographer and sell my images really cheap? ($1) each?

If I loan you my camera, will you do it for free?  Wink

Yeah with 11 laps, if there are some slow folks around me that lied about their times, it might become a tangled mess at the walls (not much time to pass).  I hadn't thought about that, have only done ows and 50m pools so far.

Hopefully they'll give us enough time in between starts. We had 5 seconds at the St. Pattys but that was a 50m pool with huge lanes. I did the old college tri in Denton 2 years back in a 25m pool and it was just a mess.

Any tips that you learned from the Old College Tri?  I had a game plan at Monster, but that blew up in my face when on lap 2 there were 3 slow people all trying to pass each other.

If I am passing someone on the left who won't get out of the way after toe tickling, here's what I do. Grab the left ankle with the right hand, pull, swim with the left. Grab the shorts with the right hand, pull, swim with the left. Grab the shoulder with the right hand, pull, swim with the left. That seems to work, especially if you manage to pull down their shorts mid-swim. Do the opposite if passing on the right.

Remind me to swim BEHIND you guys...haha.  Guess I swim the same way as the ows, just bang into people and get through.  Take advantage of being a little bigger...

Ok, I'm in for this one.  Training has been pretty non-existent, oh, for the last year and a half!  I just have the itch to race.  Save a cold pancake for me!

I just signed up, see you guys there. This will also be my first race of the season. I couldn't pass it up since I live a couple miles away from the venue and drive the bike route every day on my way to work.
