hmm.  First day of coach Dams running program.  Repeats today, so a warm up run, then 6 x 800 fast, then a cool down run.  Eeesh.  Should be interesting.  I've been feeling like I could be pushing harder anyway.  Took Friday as a rest day.  Went to a st pats day ceili in philly with the wife and kids.  Note:  while I mainly danced with Paula, the girls had NO trouble finding guys to dance with.

Damn I thought I had a legitimate shot at being first today. We all know what I will be doing today. I might swim later also because I promised Katie I would work on her stroke with her. Her special olympic swim meet is in 2 weeks. Odd thing is I am tossing and turning in bed not thinking about my race tommorow but thinking about doing IM Florida in 2005. Is that weird or what! Thanks John for the well wishes.

Yeah, thumbs up Kevin, have a great race and above all enjoy it!

Work out at the club today, maybe if it warms up enough this afternoon I can get out on my new bike for it's maiden voyage. But I'm more excited about tomorrow as I'm heading up north to climb Mt. Monroe and Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. Hoping for wind blowing something less than 80 mph on the summits.

Anybody have any idea what time Kevin's race is/was?  I'm thinking it should be done by now.  The suspense is killing me!<img align='middle' src='https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/surprise.gif'>

Biked 28 miles this a.m.  Did all my running and swimming for the week and tomorrow's  rest day!  4 weeks down in an 18 week program.  YAY!!

Long day yesterday, laid in bed this morning thinking about what might be on tv today. Then I log on to this web site that is kicking my butt out of bed and out the door! Everyone here is a tremendous source of encouragement. Many thanks.

SE Wisconsin weather:
35 deg. F. - Winds SSE 12mph.
Stay in by the fire place? Ride a trainer? Nope, out the door 25 mile bike ride, run with the dogs in the woods 1/2 hour. See you all this afternoon.

I am home. Race went well. RR is posted on my training log. I did not see it on the side bar. I have also updated pictures. Thank you so much everyone for your support. How did everyone else do. I am dying to hear about Ovettas race and from the Texans doing their tri.

After the race was the St. Patty's day parade so we stayed to watch that. It was a nice day overall.

Did 1:20 on bike. Rode outside, despite overcast, 40 degree temps, and strong headwind. Good practice for worst case race day condiditons. At least it wasn't raining. Did 17.98 miles and avg HR was 144.f

Shower, rest, warm up for a bit, do some work around the house, and swim later this evening.

WAY TO GO KEVIN!!!!

Well, finished my brick. Whew!! Times not bad but felt real sluggish. Think I'm in need of a rest day tomorrow. Working last night certainly did not help me. If this is the prize for starting the daily thread, then I give. Anyway, 21 mile bike to 3.4 mi run.

Did my 1st 10K today.  Wanted to average under 10 mins/mile and was able to do that (overall time 1.00.33 for 6.2 miles).

Added a race report with all the details.  Definitely a great time out there today.

God Bless,
Dan

Way to go Kevin and Dan!!!

You've got me thinking about doing a 5k or something before my first tri.

Today 1.8miles 24 minutes Felt good. Freezing out about 20 and VERY strong winds! That fake spring this week had me all excited.

Have a great weekend!
