Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5 in the morning... which was tough cause I got into austin around 1:30AM. Anyways, I grabbed some oatmeal and coffee then my dad and I got our stuff and got on the road.
Event warmup:

We got to the ride with 30 minutes to spare and I hopped out of the car as the parking was really backed up and went to get our packets. Just as my dad was parking I was walking to the car with our packets.

Comments:

There was a small section of road that was being tarred and I am guessing chipsealed. Well, I ran right through some fresh tar and then a rock got stuck on my tire which then got stuck between my fork and tire. I almost got launched off my bike. Other than that it was a great day. The volunteers were great and there were plenty of PB&J sandwiches. It was tough but my dad and I had a great time.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Post race
Warm down:

There were showers available at the gym and we took full advantage. We took a shower and grabbed a sandwich at the end. The sandwich really hit the spot and the shower was great.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

Overall it was a good and challenging ride. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to challenge themselves with a hilly century ride. Great training.
