Dang, you're a good sport. Nice picture too Thank you (and John) for pushing us to realise that our potential lies far beyond our mostly myopic vision of ourselves. Your "lessons learned" are great - I learned a few of those last month too!

Of course, it's a little late and maybe you guys worked this out somehow before hand, but...isn't using mileage as a measurement a bit unfair? I mean, 300 miles in Colorado has got to be more work than 900 in Louisiana (even though that total is freakin unbelievable - incredible job as well Bear). I know that when I moved my mileage went way down even though my ride time stayed the same. Just curious how that factored into the competition.

Well, I did the vast majority of my rides outside of the Fort, which is significantly flatter than the Springs area. I didn't ride anything more than some good rollers all month long so I don't think I had it much harder at all.

Ok... that was supposed to say THERE WILL BE NO THROWING OF THE COMPETITION!! We girls are looking forward to nanny-nanny-boo-booing the boys for the entire month of June.

Absolutely AWESOME Kim. The bike is nice too. You are exactly right about upping things too much too fast. That cost me almost 2 mos at the end of the year last year due to some knee inflammation. I personally would like to just get close to the mileage you did.
As for the guy who said you had a " big back", well, there are lots of stupid people in the world and males make up their share. You SHOULD have body slammed him!

Bear, don't forget that the more hills you do, half your riding is freewheeling down the other side.....free mileage!
