Played the military card all the way.....if i have to PCS(permanent change of station) or deploy before the Tri, the Columbia tri Assoc. has agreed to only charge me a $25 admin fee.  Yeah Me!
And the Comfort Inn required a 2 night stay that weekend and i managed to get each night at $99 plus tax(instead of the $143 plus tax).......Yeah Me!
As for getting George to sign up, me and our buddy Skip are gonna harass him this evening till he gives in!
All help at getting him to cave in is gratefully appreciated and encouraged!
Have a good day all!
Andy

I'm thinking of registering for Columbia, but I was hoping to get in a sprint before the oly next season.  Any suggestions since it is so early?

Kelly check the local areas for Indoor tris for a sprint.  Not as fun as an outdoor sprint I know (water is usually fairly cold at this time) but still can get good results.

I did the Tri for Life up in Landisville, PA this past April as a tune up for Columbia. Nice sprint with a pool swim. Glad I did it since I didn't make Columbia or Eagleman because of a broken collar bone.

With only just over 200 spots left, I just signed up for Eagleman too.  It wasn't nearly as nerve wracking hitting the "submit" button as it was last year.  :-)  I'll look for a hotel tomorrow.

Yea I must say I am terrified of the cold water that early (uh sleeveless wetsuit at columbia an atrocious idea?).  I almost registered for a indoor tri last april but missed it due to injury, but I'll have to consider it for next year.

The water at Columbia can be cold, but I have worn a sleeveless for my 3 tris there. only in '07 was it really, shocking cold.

Just got an email from Columbia Tri Assn that there are "less than 100 spots available" for Eagleman 2010.  I still can't decide whether or not to pull the trigger for the AquaVelo.  $225 seems ridiculously high.

I just signed up for the eagleman.  It really is nerve-racking hitting that submit button.  Have been doing sprints and oly so I thought I would go for it.  If anyone knows of any good 70.3 training programs let me know.

I used the "level 3" plan from this book: http://www.amazon.com/Triathlete-Magazines-Essential-Week-Training/... and I found it to fit me very very well.  There are 10 different levels for each distance.  If you PM me I can send you an Excel sheet with some info...

Congrats to everyone who got in.  For the first time in 5 years I'm out ...... didn't want to register this time as it is too close to IMLP and I am done with longer distance for a bit (other than LP - which was on a whim because it opened for entry online).

We'll see how fast Columbia goes next month!
