Actually, "feminine cleansing" products are kind of a no-no unless one wants to be susceptible to infection, etc. The body is made to clean itself. Those products mess with that.

I can't believe LYSOL made it!!! That just sounds so...harsh...ouch.

Wow, I just went to the site and read the others - the others are even more offensive!!

Oh man, the one I hate most is the one with the multigrain cheerios where the husband makes the comment of the wife wanting to lose weight and she just looks at him with evil glares until he corrects himself and tells himself to shut up.  That guy needs to get out of that relationship.

Not just ads...  I can easily name ten tv shows that thrive on the same thing.

Agreed.  The current schtick is that women are the clever ones and guys are all just kinda butt-scratching doofuses.  Which is awful... but not as awful as some of the ads above, yikes!  -- particularly considering the context of the times.

Despicable ads.

I like (by like, I mean abhor) the way Lysol uses an all too common fear of alienation of affection to "sell" their product. Cuz we all know how much men enjoy and seek intimacy but for the mistakes their women make.

So glad I was born at the tail end of the baby boomer generation. Then again, in my last relationship, I did all the yardwork, cleanup, housework, cooking AND his laundry. Out of the goodness of my heart, and my distaste for living in a mess. The difference between these ads and my life is that I had the option not do to these things, without fear of being slapped around.

I saw old Lucy shows and she would regularly reference what Ricky would do if he found out she spent money on this or did something particularly badly. Makes me wonder how common an occurance this was.

I see a modern ad in here somewhere: "Psssssst! The safety word is BANANA! Chiquita banana!"

Hey, Maybe the spanking coffee add is being read wrong. Maybe it is saying that if she brings home stale coffee then no more spankings. hmmmm probably not but it is a much more intresting interpretaion.

S & M in advertising? Like that has not been done before.
