Subject: Nutrition Thread - Week of 8/17 to 8/23
I'd like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in posting their daily food intake in a thread on this forum.  There have been a few postings lately on how people would like to be able to create more accountability or meet specific nutritional goals, so this could be a perfect way to do that.

Probably starting a new thread every week would be a good way to go, so things don't get too out of hand.  Anyone could jump on for the week, state their goals, and start logging.  Let me know if you're interested, and I'll if so, I'll start it up on Monday.

YESS!!! They do this at Runnersworld.com. I think that's a great idea.

Yeah - I got the idea from the runnersworld threads but I am a lurker over there.  It's motivating to read about other people eating well, especially since I tend to be surrounded by people who don't.

Count me in, too. I'm on vacation right now, so food logging is not happening at the moment, but I'll be home in a few days and would love to participate!

"Definately on board with this idea"!!! "Good thinking"!

This is just the accountability I've been looking for, plus it will help me be true to what I've been doing which is to journal my calorie intake each day.

I'd be interested in participating.  I'm not very good at logging my food, so if I know people expect me to that might help me out.

Is the plan to write down everything we've eaten or total calories?  I can do it either way.  I'm logging in the Daily Plate website.

Whatever works for you is fine.  I plan on listing what I eat, but it's cool if you'd rather just put the calories down or maybe give a link to your daily plate page.

Subject: Nutrition Thread - Week of 8/17 to 8/23
Oh you guys are too fast for me!  I was going to start up a new thread, but this morning was busy at work.  Since we already started here, I'll just see if we can get a mod rename the thread so it has a date on it.  Here's my plan for Monday.

My goals for the week:  300 daily calorie deficit (except Saturday).  No added sugar unless it's for training purposes, and NO artificial sweeteners at all.

Monday, August 17
6:30 - 1/2 Ezekiel English Muffin and 1/2T natural peanut butter
Shake: 1 scoop whey protein, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 tsp instant coffee

9:30 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese, 1 cup strawberries

12:30 SALAD: 5 oz romaine w/.5 cups each of black beans, corn, edamame.  1 tsp walnut oil, 1 tbsp rice vinegar

3:30 hard boiled egg.  1 cup broccoli dipped in 1/4 cup homemade tzatziki sauce

7:30 Chili's Guiltless Grilled Salmon w/steamed veggies

Total Calories: 1323 (REST day)
Total Activity: 40 minute walk with my friend

I'm scared....

Kashi cereal w/ 1/2 a banana, soymilk, and pb/chocolate = 450?

snack: ww cracker w/ more pb and protein water = 150-200

lunch or something: latte with some of a cheese scone = 350

Dinner: kids pesto pasta + 1.5 Parmesan bread crisps = 600

snacks= frozen yogurt and mocha = 500+

To much sugar today. I did a 5 mile run and was out all day.

Yesterday was my first day back from vacation, and I couldn't get myself to log food.... but I'm back on track today!! My goal will be to shoot for 2,000 - 2,300 calories/day, and striving for roughly 50% carbs, 20% protien, 20% fat (give or take).

I actually like the table format. If you want to reduce the amount of data displayed, you could export everything into Excel from Daily Plate, remove the extra columns, and then paste the data from Excel here.

O.K. it completely slipped my mind about this thread until I saw it this morning. It's been a buisy weekend. However, I still managed to journal my calories which were right around 1845 on Monday. Today the target is right around the same. So on top of everything I need to get my charts up and going.Undecided
