I'd like to do at least a drive-through of the bike course. We'll plan something as we get closer.

Also, is there a good local bike shop to take my bike to after the flight for a quick "check-up" ??

There are at least 4 bike shops in town, but only 2 that I trust (I have not used the other 2).

http://www.rivercitycycling.com- River City Cycling and Fitness (318)629-2453. This is the shop where I buy most of my bike stuff. They have all the tubes, CO2, etc that you would need. They seem to be the popular bike store in town, and it is usually hard to get in to get work done near races (especially River Cities), so call ahead and reserve a spot.

http://www.scootersbikeshop.org- Scooter Bike Shop (318)861-2272 - His shop is more of a service shop. He does a "complete" tune-up for about $30-$40. I would still call ahead and reserve a spot, because he will fill up the week before the race as well.

Whoo Hooo! Congrats on getting registered! This is going to be fun.

Depending on when everybody gets it to town, I'd suggest a Saturday afternoon meet up at Cypress to swim a little and drive the bike course and then a carbo load at my house for dinner.

I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My wife is shaking her head at me in disbelief considering we live 725 miles away.  Got my confirmation and got my hotel rooms at the host hotel...all is VERY sweet.  Now I just have to hope that the course will be open long enough for me to actually finish, even though the other competitors will likely already be home and showered when I cross the finish!

Please tell me they don't have custoff times for the swim at this race

WOW!  Am I glad I skipped my spinning class this morning to register.  The registration is already closed, three hours after it began.
