ok, I don't mind the cold, and I really don't mind riding in the rain either. What I really hate is cleaning my bike after riding in it.

Just started. Forecast is for rain for the next century or so. Weekend run and ride should be fun!

OK you 2...BREAK CLEAN! Sorry to bust up the Cape Cod / New Hampshire link...but it's raining here too. Well, I'm going to the club and then I'm off to the neighboring town's YMCA to see if I can pay daily for some lap swimming. I only need to go a couple times per week, so I don't want to plunk a lot of $$$ down on a big membership. Just something that'll get me through the next 3 months until the lakes warm up. Swimming on the ice here now is a little tough!

Spoil sport – I was winning as well!!

Light rain isn’t gonna stop me getting out at the weekend! A run and a ride on the cards- it’ll keep me nice and cool!

How ever I will confess to being inside the rest of the time.

This should be a good year for swimming – got use of 2 indoor pools, 2 outdoor pools and I shall do some ocean and lake swimming as well!
I can’t wait til it warms up enough for that. You’re right – being an ice breaker is no fun.

Sounds like you need a vacation to a sunny place so you can train outdoors again! The East coast seems like it has been hammered this year! Every time I turn on the weather channel, there is some form of precipitation in the East

Tell you what Ellen...you score extra points today if you at least look out the window while riding the indoor trainer. Consider it a semi-wet ride.

oh well, no extra points for me then.  My trainer is in the basement.  But that's ok, I'm going to the Y to swim and get wet anyhow    as soon as I finish my coffee.  I keep pouring it and letting it get cold.  If I don't get some caffeine into me I will never leave this chair.......

My granma always used to put candy out for visitors, if a triathlete friend visits, should I put out energy bars? Bananas and grapes?

TriMom - it's a gorgeous sunny day here in CO, but we're due for snow/rain this weekend. In the meantime, I'm going to soak up as much sunshine as I possibly can. I'll try to save some to send your way...

Max I think you're going to find it cheaper to just purchase the Y membership than to just go swimming and pay daily a couple times a week. And think of all the other benefits. Strength training, meeting new people, trying to hide from the old guys in the locker room.

LOL...yeah, I hadn't thought about that part! Well, I already have a yearly paid membership at my health club, it's just they don't have a pool. And I just found out this morning, it's not really a YMCA, but a town owned pool/gym. I still have to find out if it's only available for town residents, or if aliens like me can use it too.

It's either that or go down the street to the local pond...looks like the ice should be about melted in a couple days now. Do you think I'd look like a nut case if I put on a wet suit?

Max

I was in the same spot, great gym no pool.  I had to ditch them for the Y.  The only advantage the gym had was spin classes but I bought a trainer, so now I can ride, swim, run, whenever.

Joe, snow is ok, I'll just bring my skis!

Lara, a hot summer will just make the pool that much more inviting! In fact, I'm looking forward to running, getting hot, then feeling the cool breeze rush past me on my way to a nice swim! Ahh...

Great, now I don't want to go back to work...

Hi there fellow New Englanders

Today was "off" day.  Tomorrow bike and swim at the gym, followed by a sauna
