Gaarryy - 2009-12-03 12:46 PM every time I see Scoop Jackson I think of the espn writer, is it you??

I think that the whole men are just dogs, following nature is a poor thought process, then again I think humans have a divinity above animals,

No, but I'm flattered you think I could write for ESPN!!

Actually, he got the name from me! Laughing

As I see the pics of the women Tiger has allegedly slept with, I'm left wondering something.  Clinton was Governer of his state, the President of the US.  Given the power that man had, why didn't he make choices that were a bit closer to Tiger's?

I would imagine availability is also an issue.

Darn double post

ETA:  Having said that the pic I saw of Tiger's chick wasn't nearly as attrative as his wife.  I actually think Monica was cuter, she just had a few extra pounds, some guys like that.

Yes.
Bill is ugly = the women he was with were not cream of the crop.
Tiger is hot = better looking women.

Though that doesn't always ring true plenty of scary looking guys out there with plenty of power and money with hot chicks.  Apparently Bill wasn't comfortable going out of his league.

jmk-brooklyn - 2009-12-03 11:01 AM I think it’s interesting that everyone assumes that Tiger’s reluctance to speak to the cops or to allow the cops into his house stems from his own embarrassment or his reluctance to expose himself to bad PR. If I’m not mistaken, Florida has pretty strict domestic abuse laws. I’m beginning to think that what he was doing was protecting his wife. I’m pretty sure that it it turns out that she hit him to the extent that she damaged his face, and then attacked the car that he was in with a golf club, that she could go to jail, even if he declines to press charges. Perhaps there’s someone familiar with the laws in FL that can set me straight. If that’s the case, it doesn’t seem so terrible that he’s been unwilling to talk to the cops. I wouldn’t want my wife to go to jail over one domestic argument, no matter how heated it got.

This post by JMK is an example of why I love BT's Cup O' Joe!  Excellent post.

Personally, I'll be just as big a fan of Tiger as I ever was.  He didn't lie to me or any fan out there.  I feel sad for him that he did let his wife down.  He didn't let any of us down.  He let his wife down...and unfortunately, due to his celebrity status, he's let his children down.  (if he wasn't famous the kids would never know, depending on the size of the town and/or ability to move)

I went to look up infidelity %'s, and as usual, found the "more than half of all marriages are dealing with some sort of infidelity," but then I read on...it included one-on-one affairs (okay), illicit text messages (sorta, depends on intent), and "p0rnography on the internet." (what???)  Seriously, if viewing p0rnography on the internet qualified as infidelity, I have officially never met a guy who hasn't cheated on his wife.  How silly.  What is the real %?

Point taken.

And have you seen Bill's wife?  And Tiger's?  On an absolute scale, sure, Tiger has hotter honeys than Bill did, but I think the relative difference between spouse & mistress(es) is about equal...

By the way, I think what Tiger did is absolute sh*t, no excuse and nothing really funny about it, but I do think that he and especially his wife should be left alone to deal with it in private.

I really hope that Tiger doesn't pull a Spitzer and drag his poor wife up on stage with him while he explains to the press and public what a sh*t he's been and how sorry he is.  I don't need to hear him say all that, and it's just embarrasing for the wife.

You feel sorry for Tiger???  I feel sorry for his wife and kids who are hurt by this, not for Tiger for being stupid (oh sorry, he was just being a man). Sometimes when guys open their mouths I'm embarrassed to be a man.
So does respect not factor into how big of a fan you are of someone? If not, what is it that does make you a fan of someone? If somebody does something that really hurts other people once, that's bad. If you repeat it, that's worse. That's proving your irresponsibility. And apparently its less of a problem to cheat if your not famous and thus unlikely to have your children ever hear about it. I just do not get your line of thinking. If its wrong, its wrong. An action is not less wrong if you don't get caught.
For the record, a few years ago I cheated on my girlfriend of a couple of years. The affair was discovered after it had ended, but that didn't change the effect it had. 6 years later I still can't believe that I hurt someone as badly as I did. She was hurt, I was just ashamed.  I'll never do it again because I won't allow myself to cause that kind of pain to anyone I care about. Regardless of what my nature might suggest I do. We do have a free will, folks.

The article (whose argument I believe to be correct) contradicts your statement. Men cheat because of the excitement of mating with different women, even if they are less attentive than their previous partner.

like i said all for giggles...
it's a funny topic and nobody will be right or wrong here all depends where you coming from and what you have experienced in your life.
all i am saying is dont be naive, make sillly statements about men's free will, he was wrong, children and all the jazz....let's get back to training

Where does it say in the part you quoted that CD feels sorry for Tiger? he said, "I feel sad for him that he did let his wife down." Which is, in a way, what you're saying.

I've lost respect for Tiger because of what he did, but I feel sorry for him (and his wife, and his kids) that he has to go through this private matter on a public stage. It's part of being a celebrity today, but it wasn't always, I'm I'm not conviced that we're better as a society now that we feel entitled to know the intimate details of certain people's lives just because they make more money than we do. As awful as the infidelity was, it's up to Tiger and his wife, not the public, to decide how they want to go on from here. But now that the paparazzi and the tabloids have their fangs out, I fear they won't let it go until they're split up, even if there might have been a chance, under other circumstances, for them to have found a way to get past it.

I have to agree to all of that. I don't know how anybody can work on something like this with half the world looking in through your skylights. I'll be very impressed if they do really try- that would be courageous, in my opinion.
I also believe it's this sort of scrutiny that prevents some of our ablest leaders from seeking higher public offices, so it is us, the public, that ends up being penalized by our own appetite for this celebrity scandal stuff by having a smaller (and presumably weaker) pool of candidates to select from for our leaders of government. Someone had mentioned earlier on the fact that in Victorian times and before we had our traveling freak shows to titillate us and our yellow newspapers as well but the resources focused on celebrity and scandal now are much greater than it was then, and since we're so much closer to the world being a global village now that there is just no getting away from it, for the famous and for us. I wouldn't want Tigers life before the scandal. Not even for half a billion dollars.

Any idea when this was taken? I'm looking around for pre-Tiger photos. I wonder if he bought the bewbs or if they came pre-installed.

I don't know where he heard it (likely sports radio) but my husband said her heard the plan was that if she stays she gets a NEW pre-nup, for each year she stays she gets more money and if he cheats again she gets a huge sum.

I also hope they work this out.  I have a very good friend that cheated several times but once the couple got to the real issues (cheater was somewhat of a sex addict) and everything was worked on they have gone on to be happily married another 11 years so far.

They can get through this but it will take a lot of work, I hope they make it.
