Got another 15.2 miles in today or (if my math is right!) 130%.  I do it only for the betterment of my fellow teammates!  As I mentioned on my training notes though, I really do enjoy this stuff.  Sure, I'm not as fast as some but I never give up!  Overall my body feels better, I look better, and my outlook oon things improves constantly.  Training for tris is exactly what I needed years ago to motivate myself to get in shape and stay there.  I'd use the moniker "motivated" but it was taken by a worthy man!  I'm feeling so good that I actually signed up for my first 5K on 7/4 in HB!  Don't know what I'm thinkin', not plannin' on winnin", but I'll be smilin' the whole way!!

And BTW  GO BONES!!!!!!

+ 36.1 miles this am for a total of 354.5.  Mission Accomplished! ...with a few days left to add to the total.  No sandbagging here - my previous highest monthly total was 315.

Its raining here today, so no riding.  However, I do plan on banking at least 90 miles before the end of the month, which will put me well over my goal.

Keep riding, guys.  We're widening the gap and need to put those li'l cupcakes back in their place.

Boys, there's no easy way to say this: I'm in BIG trouble.

Should have biked today but desperately needed recovery after an Oly yesterday. My sister and her family arrive tomorrow and you know how that goes: "Hi,  nice seein' ya, gotta do a 2-hour bike ride." My Monday and Tuesday are shot with them here, and then we head to Chicago for two days. I am really struggling with this, not only because I'm coming up short on my goal, but because I have a 1/2 IM and nationals coming up. I've probably missed 4 days of training since last August, and now I'm stringing four together!  I'm not looking for a way out - kick me in the ass if you want to - just want to let you all know the circumstances so they don't come as a complete surprise.

Counting yesterday's race I'm at 376/450, 86% of the way there. I only need another 125, but it's not in the cards right now. I'll be working on it though.

Wow, that is too cool a thermometer on your bike computer. I thought I had it all.

Did a duathlon this morning, 11.2 miles on the bike at 21.8 mph yeah! Came home took a nap and then did a 17.9 mile recovery ride for the bones. Puts me at 117% of goal and 10 miles from the bear beer.

Yeah..the thermometer is pretty cool. I have a wireless Vetta computer. I don't remember to look at the temp usually but when its really hot I like to keep an eye on it.. just 'cause!

You were hooked up this morning!!! Congrats on the fast bike in the DU! and great job getting those extra miles in this afternoon.

Well, that's what challenges are all about.  We've set goals and need to do whatever it takes to get the miles in.  I realize you have company, but can you get up early one morning and ride?  That way, you can bank the miles and be back in time to cook breakfast.

Let your family know about the challenge.  They'll probably kick you out the door and make you go ride.

Have fun.

I can comiserate with you Kevin. This month didn't really work out the way I hoped either, but you know what? Too bad for me. I need another 112.5 in the next 4 days too, so lets do what we can and give this challenge some spit, vinegar, and testosterone coming in the homestretch, OK?

Don't listen to the Temptress!!  Your family will respect you more when you show your dedication by making time for your team and them.  Don't let Renee a.k.a. "El Diablo" lead you down the wrong path!

Ready for a cold one. Or at least my first cold one. Up to 189.9/150 (126%) with a few rides over the weekend. Looking for about 20 more before the end of the month for about 140%.
