No races for me this weekend, but goodluck to all those lucky people who are racing!

Race Name:  Tejas Triathlon

Location:  Sugar Land, Texas

Distance:  Sprint - 1/2 mile swim; 14 mile bike; 3 mile run

Goals:  I'd like to win the Clydesdale division, but who knows who else will show.  So my true goal is to finish in about 1:15 or better.

Prerace jitters:  No.  Of course, I may have used up my yearly quota of jitters in April in Tempe.  And put it this way - If I do poorly in this race, it will most certainly *not* be on account of overtraining.

I'm getting a good case of pre-race jitters.

  • Lake Macatawa Tri
  • Holland, MI
  • .5mi swim, 22.8mi bike, 4.8 mi run
  • Goal- not to make a fool of myself- my secret goal is to finish in 3 hours, but my realistic goal is to just finish.

The race is near my parents' home- 6 hours from here.  It's a real test of my organizational abilities to make sure I don't forget anything.

Race name:  King's Trail Triathlon

Location:  Maui, Hawaii

Distance:  Oly

Goals:  Finish!  I'm really hoping to finish around 2:45 or so...but we'll see how the heat and humidity play out.

Do you have the prerace jitters yet?   Not about the race.  But I'm anxious to get to Maui and enjoy the warm weather!

New York TRI/BI-ATHLON Series #1
Harriman, NY
Sprint: 1/2 mi/16 mi/3mi
Goal a PB under 1:40. I'd like 1:30 but think it's unrealistic on this hilly course. Male winner is usually about 1:14
Anxious more than jittery as I've down this race 7 times b4 and I've improved my running
thanks to CHI Running

Goals: to finish in 1:40 but will take anything under 2 hours (yeah, I'm slow)

Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Not sure if they are jitters but I just haven't been feeling 100% this week. I just feel blah. I think it is a mixture of work being so stressful (been working 12 hour days) and taper (which always makes me feel kinda unfit). Hopefully, I will get a good pre-race swim/bike/run on saturday and feel better by sunday.

Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Yes, I have some shin-splints issues that I hope will not hamper my perforance.. Plan A is to finish strong, plan B is to finish (walk if I have to due to leg pain) will not push it since I don't want to get injured...

Good luck to everybody...

Goals:  Run each leg at or below a 10:00min pace and not get injured.

Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Yes and No, I have signed up to run this for a team who had two women drop out last minute.  I have no real pressure since the run is part of my Taper for IMCDA.  I DO NOT want to get injured though and one of my legs is run at midnight on the bike trail so I have been a little nervous.  It is all good though.

Good luck to all those triathletes who are racing this weekend!!

Race name: Indian Creek Triathlon

Goals: Three hours, roughly estimated at 40 minutes for the swim, 1:20 bike and 60 minutes on the run.
Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Not so much jitters as concerns, primarily this is (by a factor of 2) the longest open water swim for me to date, and running a 10K in 90degree heat/90% humidity,

  • Race name: Reebok Women's Triathlon
  • Location: Naperville Illinois
  • Distance: Sprint
  • Goals: Improve over last year's time. (1:41) so I'd ideally like to be in the 1:30's someplace. Anyplace. It's also my goal not to crash, because I'm going to be riding my bike hard... I'm going to try to build up a decent bank on the bike so I can take my time on the run and still (TRY) to meet my goal. (!!!)
  • Do you have the prerace jitters yet? YES! Gastrointestinal distress! Already! I don't know why... I'm usually a bit freakish the week before the race... I'm oddly calm on race day.  Ugh.

Good Luck Everyone... Illinois girls, see you out on the course!

I have a race tonight and a ride (non-competitive) this weekend.

Race name: Boulder Stroke and Stride
Location: Boulder, CO
Distance: 1500 m swim, 5k run (but due to injury, I'm skipping the run and DNFing)
Goals: Stay calm on the swim, improve my mental/emotional response to OW
Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Absolutely. I'm very nervous about OW, so I'm working on getting myself pumped up and excited for it.

Race name: Tour de Cure
Location: Loveland, CO
Distance: 75 miles biking, but more importantly, 3500 ft gain in the first half...
Goals: Get up there without dying, get down without crashing. I already reached my goal of raising over $500!
Do you have the prerace jitters yet? Yeah. I slacked off on biking last month, so I'm worried about how much it's gonna suck to get up there, though I know I'll make it.

Good luck to everyone racing!!!
