stevestenzel - 2010-02-13 1:11 PM Sorry, no advice, but just a kindred soul. When I wear mine, it's always "3 o'clock" if you know what I mean.... (My penis is at 3 oclock. Oh, I didn't need to explain it? Sorry. )

3 o'clock seems pretty standard, it's what I use.  Does anyone go 9 o'clock?  Is it different for right and left handed folks?  I wonder if a study has been done on this?

Being a competitive swimmer most of my life has gave me the distinct advantage of not thinking of this matter too much any more, if someone in the race is taking the time to look at your junk take it as a compliment, if its a spectator,,,, who cares,,, cause they dont have the "junk" to be in the race in the first place.

A friend of mine who ran college track always complained that women wear form-fitting tops so the world could see how busty - or not - the girls were, and thought that in a just world, men's packages would be on display in form fitting clothes. I guess trisuits bought a degree of fairness to her world.

to be completely blunt, what are you hiding? guys have a penis, its part of life.
in tight/thin clothing, you can see the form a bit, it happens. you dont try to hide or cover up women in tight clothes do you? i mean you can tell where things are!?!

trust me, there will be 200-2000 other epople in spandex walking around too, no one but you will care.

Show are bit to much in places..LOL

Any tips from guys to make them a bit modest...i suspect not as going commodo seems to be the go!

Too easy, buddy.  Fold it in half and duct tape it to your leg.

the bear - 2010-02-13 9:34 AM I supposed HTFU is not good advice in this situation.

Cool

It is if this other post is your goal.

maybe this will aid in attracting the opposite sex and help you with bearing crotchfruit in the future..

Provided you have something significant to show.

Lol, you think your trisuit might be revealing, try wearing a speedsuit by itself (without tri shorts underneath). I was considering doing it for a sprint and even went on a bike ride with it on to see how long I could comfortably bike with it and was all ready to wear it when... I realized you could see the complete outline of every part of my lower anatomy. Now this normally probably wouldn't be a problem, but you just never know what it might look like on raceday after a cold warmup swim...

I once had a friend who felt the same way, and he asked, what can I do to look more 'Manly" in this thing. I said, "stuff a potatoe in the tri suit, chics will dig it and men will want to fight you". Race day comes around, and he approaches me, looking quite confused... He says "I thought you said that this was the thing to do, instead everyone is laughing at me!!!" I ask him to step back and let me take a look... Then the reason becomes crystal clear.... 'Hey bro, just a word of advice, put the potatoe in the front next time"Surprised

Just another way for me to intimidate the competition.

Check out Newbz thread (Vday race) for a great alternative.

I am with bostonredsox on this even though I was never a competitive swimmer.  This isn't a trisuit problem, it's a mental problem.  Learn to be proud!

There, problem solved.

Now, get out there and put in some training miles in your new gear.

The first year my boyfriend and I started participating in triathlons he thought he'd be different and get silver tri shorts instead of black.

Bad idea. We called him 'throb' the rest of the year; he was very strategic in his race belt placement the rest of the season. Needless to say the following year he invested in black tri shorts and never looked back. Even typing this makes me giggle.

as for the look..guess u just get comfortable with it..though a black trisuit with grey hair in the nether regions poking through looks a bid bad...
