I've had a bad case of ITBS for two months now, (doc initially said it was runner's knee, but he was wrong). I've been swimming and biking throughout to keep up fitness level. Is the biking prolonging my recovering or does it have no effect? There is no pain when i'm riding.
I'm recovering from ITBS and I agree with domlazz -- if it doesn't hurt, you should be OK. In general, I do as much as I can until it hurts. When it hurts, I ice and rest. I stretch throughout most of my workouts and afterwards.
But how do you define hurt? Mine is always ever so slightly SORE when I amd done with ANY workout...but I have to run 15+ miles to get the typical sharp ITB pain. Otherwise...I don't even notice.
