New user 41 Chattanooga | Subject: RE: Team Skinny April Fool's (Apr 2010) Hello team! Here's my progress: April 1 - 152.6 April 7- 151 April 14 - 149.8 Goal - 146 I am sooooo excited to be in the 140's!!!! What's better is that I'm really proud of the work I've done - I have WORKED for this 2.8 loss in April. It's going to be a challenge to get to my goal in the next two weeks, but I'm sure going to try! Goals for this week: 3x strength training, 3x run, 3x spin class, 1 swim. WATER 1500-1600 cals a day with one "cheat" day of 2300 (it will be Saturday and I'm doing a 15K race) 1 low cal day of 1300 (that will be my rest day) Don't weigh myself until next wednesday (I feel myself getting a little crazy...) I love this team challenge. It has really inspired me. Push through, Team Skinny! 2 more weeks. Emily |

Rose, great job on the loss! I'll take 2 lbs per week all year long! I know a lot of folks who try to do a splurge day (old followers of Body For Life come to mind). The problem with a splurge DAY is that you don't control your caloties at all for an entire day. When I did that, years ago, I'd work my butt off to create a 7,000 calorie per week deficit, then on Sunday, I'd eat a dozen Krispy Kremes, a couple of stuffed crust Meat Lovers pizzas, etc. Well, that doesn't really work out so well. When I switched to the planned MOO, I was able to control it by assigning the rules to the meal. I always had ONE planned for right after my weigh-in (today I'll have two slices of greek pizza from Whole Foods), the other meal, I normally reserve for those surprise meals...you know the ones. Freinds invite you out and you don't want to be a social bummer, or an office "food thing." If I don't use it, I just don't care, and normally barbeque on Sunday. It's all about compliance with a hdealthy lifestyle rather than denying myself something that I have NO desire to give up forever. Edited by timbarnby 2010-04-14 9:03 AM |

Earlier this week I was having a real hard time focusing on many things including the workout. Feeling some pains, stiffness, irratability, and having a hard time sleeping. So wednesday I didnt get the weightloss I hoped. I took off thursday completly and today I get on the scale and lose almost 3lbs since Wednesday. = of course I screw up my back this morning so Im screwing around here rather than the gym. I hope to get there tonight but when the lower back is really hurting its hard to do much of anything. Not fun. I'm suffering from back and neck issues as well. I was a chaperon for a high school trip and spent too much time sleeping on a bus over the past week. There's just no way to sleep comfortably on a bus. |

I hope to get there tonight but when the lower back is really hurting its hard to do much of anything. Garceau, lack of sleep, stress and pain all cause me to hold water and retain weight. I thin the worst one of these for me is lack of sleep. When I'm getting 3-4 hours per night, i drop almost no weight. When I get 7-8 hours, I lose weight as planned in my program. The nice thing is that when I start getting the sleep and reduce the stress, my weight drops back down onto my planned trend. So, remember to eat right, exercise, manage your caloric deficit, and keep moving on. One week, or even two weeks without weight loss does NOT mean that you should change your diet or activities. Tim I'm hoping this is my issue for the past week. Not enough sleep chasing the teenagers around and my lower legs are really swollen. I hope once I start getting a decent amount of sleep and lose the water weight that things will get back to normal. |

Today's weight was 132.6, but I would prefer to use yesterday's number of 131.8. Doubt I'll make my goal of 130 by the end of the month, but IM training begins in earnest in May and I feel like that it when I will be able to get these last 7-8 pounds off. At least I hope so. |

Regular 74 Nashville, TN | Subject: RE: Team Skinny April Fool's (Apr 2010) Hi Skinnies! No "weight" loss for me this week, but I can tell that my body is still changing. I'm wearing pants today that did not fit two weeks ago, so there is definitely progress. Still hoping to be under 160 by the end of April, but I'll need to get my nutrition back on track for that to happen. It has slipped this last week. |

Expert 1051 Bradenton, Florida | Subject: RE: Team Skinny April Fool's (Apr 2010) For those looking for diet information, check out the following link: http://outside.away.com/outside/bodywork/201001/diets-fitness-nutrition-wellness-intro.html Man vs. Food This was the article that got me started. It is a compare & contrast review of several popular diets all followed for 8 weeks by the same guy. Lots of good points and easy to translate graphs. I started the Abs Diet on Feb. 15 and weighed 279, down from a personal high of 285 after Christmas. Two months later and the results could not be more amazing. I am at 242, my BMI is no longer in the obese range and percent body fat is down almost 10%. The best part is it makes sense, fits my schedule, is easy to follow (recipies are 5-10 minutes for most and no more than 20 at the most) and the food taste great. Hope this helps. |

Member 30 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny April Fool's (Apr 2010) From a weight loss perspective, it was not a great week. I am up a few lbs. Mom had people visiting that I entertained for her and I also had her home for a couple of days on the weekend. Combined, I let my diet get completely out of control and it shows on the scale. I am hoping some of this is water gain because people are starting to notice a change in me. Either way, a good weekend with my Mom so I am not going to complain about a slip here. Apr 1: 248.6 Apr 7: 246.4 Apr 14: 251.7 April goal: 235 |

Maybe catch me on the third week when enary levels are normal or increased rather than the first two weeks which look like they could be tough. My girlfriend is doing it with me so should be good support. I have got half way through the book and it makes sense. It is very much like TNT eating plan (Targeted Nutrition) (see mens health) where you eat low GI and lean with healthy fats until you need the extra carbs (pre, during and post workout). Looking forward to the results |
