Swim
What would you do differently?: I need more time training with speed. Maybe I could have swam a little faster but being my first oly I didn't want to do to much to early. Transition 1
Comments: Super fast T1 for me. This was my first tri in a wetsuit so I was pleased with my ability to get out of it so quickly. What would you do differently?: Next time I will lube my lower legs. I also need to work on getting into my shoes more efficiantly. Bike
Comments: This was my first running mount and my first race on my P2. The mount was great ran past two ladies mounting there bikes then I mounted and was gone but I had a hard time getting in my shoes and the two ladies caught up. Saw a guy wrecked on the side of the road and a suspicious car right there. Not sure if the car caused this. I asked the guy and about two other bikers but no one answered and being close to the vehicle that was leaving the area I put on a chase. When I got up to the corner I yelled at a cop to stop that car and check it out. Then about two thirds into the bike ride I dropped my chain going from the lg to sm ring. This only took a minute to fix and got going again. Then some yahoo in a white truck with a load of wood passed us on the left and was hitting and spraying cones all over the place. I almost got taken out. Got my feet out of my shoes and ready for dismount, hit the line perfectly, feet on the ground could not feel the bottom of my feet. Back tire hit on the fencing supports shot the bike in the air I caught it and continued on. What would you do differently?: Work on feet into shoes. Get more speed on the bike. Adjust front derailer Transition 2
Comments: decided to wear socks since I havent trained this distance without them. What would you do differently?: I will train my medium and short runs sockless, I shouldent need socks for this type of race Run
Comments: could not feel the bottom of my feet for the first two miles. Not sure if my sock was bunched under the ball of my left foot or not. decided to do nothing . after mile two the feeling came back and all was well. What would you do differently?: Need to train more bricks, more speed and no socks Post race
Warm down: A nice cold water four slices of pizza and kicked back in the shade with my very supportive wife. What limited your ability to perform faster: This being my second year of triathlon and my first oly distance race, I couldent ask for anything faster. I will train with more speed in all three sports. Event comments: I believe this was the first year for this race?? so if this is true they did a great job. The traffic on the narrow roads was trouble at times. The location, venue, weather, people all great Last updated: 2010-02-04 12:00 AM

woke up at 3:30am, little coffee, bagle with peanut butter, juice, cottage cheese, water. Packed my truck with all my gear. Took about one hour to get to the race sight. Was one of the first racers(I like to get a good spot in transition). This was my first oly distance race so I was very excited to see what I could do. My goal time was 2:26
I did some stretching then went for a short jog, once warmed up got into my wetsuit and did some warmup swimming.
