Awesome!

deepbluesea - 2005-11-26 5:27 PMOk, so I finally found the thread I'd heard about. I'm in for the half--it'll be my first. And, of course, I'm in for the party. The lengths I will go to to drink with you people, sheesh.

I think I'm over the boots and loin cloth, but I'd totally wear a pink baby tee.

Tri Take Me Away - 2005-11-22 3:07 PMWe need a baby tee for Jim as well, to go with his boots and loin cloth.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change from a half-marathon to the Full after you have already registered? If so how would you go about doing it?

Probably you can since neither race is sold out (AFAIK). You most likely would just have to pay the difference in the registration fees. Send an e-mail here and ask: [email protected]

I'm strongly leaning towards switching. I am training with guys that are doing the Full so that is that training program i am doing. I did a 9 mile training run on sat and finished it fairly easy. After the 9 mile training run the 13 mile half didn't seem like such a daunting challenge. The full marathon looks very challenging so I think I'm gonna try to switch. It's hard to beleive I am going to try and switch to the full now and last month I was not even going to attempt the half because I thought it was too long.

That is so awesome!  Congrats on your new challenge.  Marathons are so physcially and mentally challenging, but they are sooo rewarding!  There's no other feeling you can get when you cross the finish line of a marathon.  It gives me chills just thinking about it   Isn't it funny how our minds can change so fast?  I mean, I always said I'd never do a marathon, tri, 1/2 IM, or IM.  And I've done all those and am on my way to an IM!  that's great that you have guys to train with.  It really helps with the motivation factor.

We are gonna be the "high-profile" team there with my cool-ass shirt design!! LOL Gee, was that a shameless plug or what? It's late and my brain isn't working right!! LOL

I gotta agree with Runnergirl, there is NO feeling in the world like finishing a marathon...it'll be a year since my last...I'm craving it already and we still have three months!!!!

OK - my friend in Boston said she would fly down and do the 1/2 with me. Before I could really decide if Ia m doing this or not she went and signed up! So now she has me even more motivated and I signed up too!! I guess I better go buy a shirt to get printed up with the BT logo.....

I'm seriously considering this race. I couldn't do St. A's due to scheduling conflicts, but this sounds like it's going to be a great BT gathering. I think I just need a little push in the right direction. ANyone want to help me make the decision?

Do it or I'm gonna drive down to Virginia and personally kick your...

Yeah, I know, you're not believing a word of that either. How about "Just do it because we are basically a harmless group of fun-loving people who will probably behave badly in a large group and we'd like nothing more than to have you with us for moral and emotional support."

Oh yeah, and for those of us running at the back of the pack, to have another cute butt to look at!

You MUST be there! It simply won't be as fun and exciting without your luminous presence.

Come to Tampa! Come to Tampa! Will be so much good fun. You won't even need a car - excellent grocery store, restaurant and entertainment within blocks of downtown hotels.

If you make it a nice long vacation you can drive two hours the following Thursday and see the Red Sox spring training opener in Ft. Myers!! Or wait until Friday and see the home opener against BC and Northeastern! Sounds like a plan to me...

I think I'm pretty much in if I can find a reasonable plane ticket. Not needing a car is definitely a plus. Thanks for all the encouragement.

You should definitely do it! Make it into a winter vacation. I'm planning to do this race to motivate myself to go down to Florida to visit my extended family (which is somewhat like torture - sort of like being stuck in a neverending episode of Cops, it's seriously scary). Despite the rest of the trip, at least I know the race will be fun!
