What's with all this "masssssssssaaaaaaaaage talk"?? I figure after the marathon we just do an easy 5-K for a cool down!

And I'll be staying at the Courtyard Marriott, so I'll be able to avoid all you rowdy people and might just get 5 hours of sleep. I'm counting on Renee and Sue to keep me awake on Marathon Morning with non-stop chatter. That will keep me from wandering off course with my eyes closed.

Oh my gosh- time is starting to fly!!!  It seemed so long ago, and now it's getting closer.  I wasn't nervous, but now I am!

BTW- I have a pink t-shirt that I bought for the Gasparilla logo.  All I have to do is find a dry fit running tank to send as well

Now I am really nervous! I completely fell off the running wagon for the month of December - I don't know if I'm going to be ready this soon!

Any final plans on get togethers? I think I'll get there Saturday monring and will take the Monday after the race off so I don't have to drive home right after running.

No plans have been finalized. Rest assured, we WILL have a BT get-together (probably 3 or 4 or 5) and details will be posted at BT well before the event.

My friend and I just decided to stay at a hotel Saturday night instead of driving up from Long Boat Key Sunday morning. She booked us reservations at the Wyndham Harbor Island just a few blocks form the race start and the Hyatt where everyone else is staying!

I'm in a mini-panic.  I don't have anything ready.  What's the temperature going to be like?  Can I run in shorts?  If it's over 45 degrees I should be OK.  I need to print out maps and directions to stuff from MapQuest so I know where the hell I'm going.  I hope I can basically walk from the hotel (Courtyard Marriott) to the race site, everyone else's hotel, race registration area, other stuff, except for perhaps the dinner location.  I'm not much of a world traveler, I'll probably stress out in a big city.  LOL

Relax Max - just remember - you can do anything, you're an Ironman!! I don't know much about Tampa but I am sure shorts will be fine. It's been colder than normal down here this week, but the coldest I've seen so far was 48 at 6am. It warms up very quickly though. If the temperatures get back to normal I would bet low 60's when the race starts.

I'm planning on wearing my tri shorts because that's what I've been wearing on my long runs. I'm not sure about a shirt yet - probably the sleeveless one they gave me at Danskin. I'd like to have a long sleeve one to start with incase it is colder. Maybe I can plan on handing it off to my friend's mom during the run.

I'm getting so excited - I wish the race was this weekend!! See you in 9 days!

Here in Tampa, we've seen temps as low as 27F in the last week.  We were under a HARD FREEZE WARNING earlier this week.  But not to worry.  The weather forecast for Sunday has it at 57 degrees for the morning, warming up to 78.  So you should be fine in shorts.  Bring a coolmax longsleeve for the race start maybe?  Did you make your BT shirt a long sleeve??? LOL

Last year at this event, it was barely 45 degrees in the morning and I wore a coolmax longsleeve with shorts and I was fine...drenched with sweat after three miles.  I did only the 15K last year, but still...

No worries Max! Besides, you can always overpack a bit...better than not having enough!
