I succumbed to antibiotics and I feel well enough to exercise today. FINALLY! I'm tired of feeling like crap.

So, it's off to the pool and hopefully a run this afternoon. It is snowing here, so we'll see. I just hate the treadmill

Morning team!

Did 45 minutes of Pilates and plan to ride outside later today. Still don't have my energy back yet, so I will not overdo it.

Yoga is done for the day. Biking is next. I'm still working out the details of my new bike; I think the seat actually needs to be raised. This is unheard of, in my little life. I think I'm starting the biking off too slowly. I did 4 miles yesterday. I think I'll try for 6 today. Maybe it's better to start off slowly; I don't know... And I really want to get an abs workout in. Well, I don't WANT to, but I should.

Raced a 5K today.  Typical south Florida weather is upon us.  75 degrees with 95% humidity at 7:30 a.m..  No chance of rain to decrease humidity.  Stepping outside is like walking into a steam room!  Very foggy for the race too.  Kids volunteered while I raced and they were awesome!  Got great reports back from the race people!

plans went kerflewie this a.m.! Need to take bike in for repairs (noisy, noisy gears, even changing gears when I'm just smooth sailing! Arghhh) Oh yes, I will have a great fancy bike someday. But until then, I happily amble along on my Toys R Us bike! Hope to get it back by Mon or Tues as first tri is May 2! Will try to hit gym or run today (especially after those sly little Easter eggs popped themselves in my yapper!) Happy training!

Oh yeah, and 15 minutes of snow-shoveling.

OH, Max, what a day!! Do you mean your first event ever, EVER?! And you came in first in your group!!! I felt the thrill of victory just reading your race story. Great inspiration. I'm wondering if I will be able to write such a great accounting of my first race, or will it all just be a blur of excitement nd exhaustion?! ENJOY YOUR DAY!!! You're the bomb!

55 mins on the exercise bike at the health club below 140 bpm. This is the last week of base training. Whoopee!!!
Curse my small town health club! They are closed on Sunday for Easter. Most inconvenient. I had a 700 yard swim planned. Now I will have to run outside. Like Autumn says it could be snowing in Minnesota tomorrow. :-(

Did 1 mile run warm up. (Ran the whole mile in 13:32! No more 15 min miles for me! ). A mile run is going to be my standard! Woo Hoo! Walked the rest. My legs were tired. But kicked butt anyway.  So 30 min run/walk and 1hr of weightlifting. It's nice in Chicago, no snow just a little cool. It's snowing in Colorado! Ha! Have a happy Easter y'all!

OH, congrats on your race Max! Can't wait to read the report!

Ovetta.

Did my first out door ride of season 10 miles. My butt has to adjust to the different seat. OUCH. Legs felt great but that wind kicked my tail. Trying to get the wife to go up to the track with me so I can run. I was the only person riding my bike in shorts today everyone else had on long tights. Temp was not that bad about 45.

OH, Max, what a day!! Do you mean your first event ever, EVER?!

Well, actually I did one about 20 years ago, it was a 2-event sort of thing, a bike and run, not really organized triathlon-style. And so because I've basically started here from scratch, I still consider today my first event. Of course I didn't have that much competition, I think there were 3 in my age group. But like I told my wife, I'll take it, it'll probably be the only thing I ever win in a tri...LOL

I'm sure you'll do great in yours too...make sure you tell us about it, I wanna cheer for you and everyone else too!

Max

Did make it up for the track did 2 miles total. The first mile I did in 10:30 then I walked a quarter and then ran the rest in a total time of 24 minutes. It is only the second time I ran outside this year, the rest has been inside on the treadmill. Like the first time I sucked wind all the way through. I am going to have to suck it and run outside all the time if I want to improve my run. I am still pleased with my preformance because 5 months ago I could not even do three miles in one hour on the treadmill.

Let's see, busy 2 days. Had day off yesterday, so tuned up my bike ( and yes, it actually works better after I was done with than before! ), and went on a 25 mile ride. Swam 700M at the pool.

This morning, got up early and ran 2 miles.

Oh, and bought a new car! Traded in my old mustang ( which was a fun car to drive, if you didn't need to carry friends, or a bike, or a dog... ) for something a bit more suited to carrying around all my equipment and bike and things. Sigh, I can get another sportscar when my midlife crisis comes, right?

Easter brunch tomorrow AM ( I was especially good last two days, so I can be a little bad tomorrow ).

Nice 5k run today Sharon! Now I'm motivated to find some 5k's around here to do, before my Tri, just so I have *something* to report on other than training. You've inspired me.
