Can someone explain the challenge a bit? I see that everyone posts goals for S/B/R, but then is that it? Do you try to get closest to goal or most altogether or ???

I might be coerced into a team if some other folks are interested, too. I think ten teams sounds perfect!

Anyone wanna enlighten me, or join me?

I'm in...i would like ot post in miles and minutes, mostly because I can never keep accurate count of my laps

Swim - 200 minutes

Bike - 100 miles

Run - 300 minutes

I know that may not seem like a lot, but it has been a tough start to my month and I will not be able to do anything until at least Thursday of this week.  I just hope to crush these goals!

Well, it looks like we have at least 4 people for team ten! From what I can tell so far, we are supposed to post our goals for the month (in either minutes or distance), then track our workouts to see how close we come to goal. And the goals are personal based on where you are, so don't worry about it seeming like too much or too little, ok?

I'm going to work on mine. The cycling and swimming are so hard to fit in, but I gotta do it! Will post them here later today, and hopefully we can get a few more folks to complete our team ten!

I'll play. I have to sit down and work on my goals. I have tri on the 10th of July, so I'll be tapering the next week. I'll post goals either tonight or tomorrow. I think we also need a team name.

I'll join the team! I am completely new to all this. My mom got me to say I'll do a triathlon with her in September, and she's on team 9. So team 10 sounds good. Goals for the entire month? Ok... by the end of this month, my goals are:

Swim: 400 yards (I believe the Colorado State University's pool is yards, but maybe its meters. Well, 400 of whatever)

Run: 40 minutes consecutive and 6 miles at once (w/o stopping) - two seperate goals for running

Bike: 12 miles (indoor) and... um... 10 miles on a stationary bike

Ah ha! Now I officially have goals.

Hey JodiLynn! What a cool thing to share with your mom!!! My sister loves tris, and she is moving here from out of state next month (and recovering from ACL surgery) so we're planning to do lots of them together.

I think we're getting close to a full team. Let's see if I can cut and past who we have here:

1. Annabananamc: S-TBD/B-TBD/R-TBD
2. JodiLynn: (I think your goals should be in the total number of minutes or distance you'll do for the whole month - but your other goals are great, too!)
3. lawlessryde: (are you in?)
4. Dodgersmom: Swim - 200 minutes/Bike - 100 miles/Run - 300 minutes
5. goblue9696:
6. ejc999:
7.
8.

There were a few folks who said they'd like to play on the main thread, I'll post there and invite them to come by here and see if we can't round up a few more. Anyway, let's get our goals together and then we need a team name and captain!

Sure Splerph! You are on team ten! Now you need to make a pledge for minutes or distance in each of the 3 sports (swim, bike, run) and then keep track of what you do for the month. Try to get to 100% of your pledge. That's it!

Yay Chris! Now we've got a full team (I think)

5. goblue9696:
6. ejc999:
7. splerph
8. Chris Tree: 10000m swim/200miles bike/50 miles run

We just need everyone to get their goals posted (including me!) and pick a captain and a team name.....

IDEAS???????

I do not want to be team captain. Annabanana, you're organizing it. How about she's the captain?

Ok, I used a calculator and added up my goals. Here they are:

Swim - 2200M, Bike - 60M, Run - 30M

The run might be too low of a goal. Is it okay to adjust it mid month? I might raise it to 40 or 50 depending on where I am on the 15th. I have my training schedule outlined in minutes, but I'd rather my goal be in miles. If I set it in minutes, I might just not push myself and not go so far as if I set in in miles, where I'll probably push myself to get faster.

Here are my goals for the month:

250 miles bike
15,000 yard swim
45 mile run

I also think that Annabanna would make a good captain. Thanks,

Ernie

Ahhh heck, guys, I am just online a lot! I'll agree if you all agree to not need much captain-ing! LOL

And I will be out of town, and probably not online much, from the 30th-Aug 3 - so maybe a co-captain would be a good idea?

Chris - I'm loving the names so far - any more ideas?

We need to know soon if lawlessryde is with us, they are hoping to place a few 'orphans' onto teams. How about we all respond yeah or nay and pledges where needed, maybe by tonight or tomorrow am if at all possible. (yes, this means me - gotta do the math)

Then tomorrow I'll start a new thread for us for tracking and talking and support!

Annabanana - lazing around eating KFC and floating (not swimming) in the pool....ahhhhh...

Been playing around on the rhyming websites...

What a comedienne
again and again
with ballpoint pen
Like some silly hen
I find my zen
rhyming 'ten'

Let's see if we win!

OK, I've been working on my goals. I've got to be careful because last month I got too ambitious and got sick from overtraining and was out most of two weeks - balance is the thing I'm trying to learn!

So, with that said, I'm going to pledge in minutes to keep it all consistent - some of my biking will have to be on the trainer since I have a 3 yr old to watch, and some of my swimming might be via bungee chord in our pool while he swims. Either way, minutes will work.

I'm also assuming we start with this week, which gives us 4 weeks in the month.

Swimming: 120 minutes
Biking: 240 minutes
Running: 800 minutes

I sure hope I manage to do a whole lot more, but this is more consistent with where I am right now. Oh yeah, I'd like to lose 5lbs too - LOL!

Yay I'm on the team!!

I vote for you Annabanana to be captain too!  (thats my sisters nickname too btw,  just thought I'd share that)

I also like the name Good In10tions!  clever.

I've got a physio apt this arvo and I want to wait till after that visit to decide on my goals.  The physio and my coach may have different ideas on my goals.  I've hurt my calf so I may adjust my goals to make sure I don't make it worse this month.  Hopefulyl its not too late to put my goals in tomorrow.

Go Team

Yay!

So - we have a team!

We're all getting our goals in soon! (today?) Once I have them in, I'll post our new thread with the goals and team roster at the beginning.

Let's be the Good In10tions - I like it too and it's catchy and fun!

Anything else I'm forgetting?
