Hey everyone!

I think the rules have been all nailed down on the captain's thread. Here's how the challenge will work:

* Scoring system is % of teammates reaching their time or distance goals (no extra points for exceeding their goals).
* Challenge dates are July 1 - July 31.
* This is a pledge challenge (seems to be the majority opinion).

The pledge is an amount of money that you will donate to charity if our team doesn't win. Renee (the challenge queen) says that you can pledge any amount at all, but the average is about $20. Since we will win! it is kind of a wash....I'm not sure but I think the winners get to pick what charity benefits. I'll let you know that detail as soon as I do.

Renee also needs our goals and pledges TODAY - so if you haven't already done so, post them here and/or PM me with them and I'll combine them and send to her this evening.

Then each Monday you are responsible for posting your actuals on our thread. Plan to post by noon EST. The first post will be for July 1-10, and after that it will be for Mon-Sun. I'll then collect and send to Rene for posting in the overall spreadsheet.

LET'S ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!! We should all be well on our way to our first week's goals today.

Let us know how you are doing, if you need some encouragement, what is helping you succeed, etc.

Thanks GOOD IN-10-TIONS!

I am a poor college student, so my pledge might fall through if I don't get enough money for rent. But I will pledge $10. My goals are already up.

JodiLynn - you rock! I remember in college how BIG $10 was....scraping quarters to do laundry and all.

Let's just win so JodiLynn doesn't have to worry about giving up the rent money!

still trying to figure out how to get in a workout today and off to pick up DS from 'school' and take him to HIS swim lessons - but hey, I get free stroke tips when I pay attention to his lesson!

I'll pledge $20. Don't panic with my first set of totals as I have a tri on the 10th and will be tapering.

hey team goodin10ions... i'll get my goals out by the end of the day today. i'm going to be on vacation next week so i'm trying to figure out how to fairly work that time in there.

anyone know if it's okay to do it in terms of time instead of distance? i saw someone else did that...

$20 to the winning team's charity of choice.

Hey Ernie - those goals sound just fine to me - whatever works for where ever you are in your training works for me...my own seem pretty insignificant, but they are mine and I hold them dear!

I'll pledge $20 too, and will kick in JodiLynn's $10 if the rent ain't happening....

Of course, since we WILL BE THE WINNERS we'll just have to spend our time figuring out who to give everyone else's money to!

Kirby, thanks for joining us and for the promise of your goals by later today. Who else needs to get me goals???? I guess it's time to make my spreadsheet and start tracking, huh?

ok. i'm using minutes too... especially after yesterday's bike ride that included a lot of 5pmh uphill lots of time, but not much distance. and very good training.

i currently don't track my training (bad, bad, bad), so this will motivate me to start. that also means that this could be a little off, but i rounded up from where i think i was last month. it's supposed to be a CHALLENGE, right?

banana, i'll send you my stuff out on the 10th ...or two weeks worth on the 18th.

swimming - 200 minutes
running - 360 minutes
biking - 450 minutes

all right sorry if I'm a little late with my goals.  Being on the other side of the world and in a different time frame I will prolly be checking the net at different times to most of you guys.

I've been to the physio and I have a small tear in my calf muscle so I won't be able to commit to too much running this month.  So my goals may be a little less then I would have liked.

But here they are

Swimming 360 mins

Cycling 360 mins

Running 180 mins

I know its not part of the challenge but as its winter over here at the moment my training involves more cross training and I'm doing alot of base conditioning which I log as aerobics so as part of my challenge I want to get at least 780mins of aerobics/base conditioning in as well this month.  so I know that won't add to the challenge but at least I'll feel like I achieved something if I have it written down.

Also count me in the for the charity donation too.  Can I make a suggestion as I'm from Australia and Chris Tree is from Kent. My suggestion is that we decide on an international charity so we can make the donations easily.  Hope that makes sense!

Wow! We're already on page two of our thread. I'll start us a new one first thing in (my timezone) the morning with our goals table at the top.

They posted some guidelines on the captain thread that said that the charity to pick should be at the least able to accept online donations - and I love that we are an international team! So yes, let's pick something we can donate to internationally!

Everyone's pledges and goals look just great. I've got two more coming in (I hope) goblue9696 and lawlessryde.

I did NOT manage to get a workout in. I WISH it was winter here - it is so dang hot in Central Florida right now. Tomorrow I'll be doing a double workout to make up for today. I had to go to the acupuncturist while DS was in school this morning, so that blew my workout time. Then I binged on Lays potato chips (well, not a huge binge, but it doesn't take much) I guess subconsciously I figured I ought to blow the day BIG TIME!

Now that just won't do...... tomorrow is another day!

Okay, I did it. Here are my goals for the challenge.

Swimming 10000 yds
Bike 200 miles
Run 35 miles

and I will pledge 20.00 dollars, but since we will win it doesn't really matter anyway.

0C??!?

That's summer in Canada!

*Note to self don't travel to Canada * (Just kidding I've always wanted to go see Canada)

Give me a 30 - 35C summer day anytime just no cold for me. Actually I should get some tips from all of you abotu what to wear to ride in in the cold.  I've given up riding my bike to work at the moment because I need to go find something warm to wear on my bike.  I've only ever ridden in summer before.
