Hi Everyone,

I have copied the information below from the flyer about the event:

TRIATHLON 101

Transition Management

Race Survival Tips

For those athletes that have experienced a triathlon, you know that the transition from swim to bike and from bike to run can be an interesting and somewhat challenging experience.  What equipment to you need?  How do you set up your area?  How do you make the transitions efficient and organized?  This session will help answer many of these questions, as well as give you a chance to practice your transitions.  Triathlon 101 will have a transition area set up for you to see and to practice in.  During the session we will discuss and demonstrate:

-          How a transition area is organized before you put any equipment in (entrances, exits, rules, race management, etc.)

-          How to efficiently organize your area including a recommended list of supplies/equipment.

-          Preparing for bad weather

-          Transition tips for a more comfortable and quicker transition

-          Demonstrations of a swim/bike and bike/run transition

-          Opportunity to practice transitions

Triathlon 101 will be offered twice:

-         Tuesday, June 1st from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Merrimack YMCA (6 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack)

-         Sunday, June 6th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Merrimack YMCA (6 Henry Clay Drive, Merrimack)

Handouts will be available with rules, recommendations, equipment tips, and general tips.

Who can come – Anyone! Y members and non-members. New triathlete, experienced triathlete, or potential triathlete.

What to bring – You may bring your bike, running gear and anything else that you think should be in your transition area.  If you prefer to watch and take notes, then just bring yourself.

The Triathlon 101 sessions are FREE.  To sign-up for one or both sessions, contact the Merrimack YMCA at (603) 881-7778 or e-mail Fred Daniels at [email protected].
