I'm forming a team for Ragnar Relay del Sol, February 25-26, 2011.  Prescott to Mesa, 185 miles in 26-30 hours. Cost per person if we hit the early bird deadline is $90.

Who's in?

I haven't ran it since it moved to Prescott.  26-30 hours is this a pretty fast paced team?  Medium?  Leisure?

I would love to do this race.  It sounds awesome!  I just need to get permission from the boss and I'd do it.  Is this really a Fri - Sat race?  I consider myself a moderate runner but my moderate might be someone else's leisurely pace.  My first marathon I have scheduled for November.

I'm looking at a medium to leisure team. I'm all about just having fun with it. The target time for finishing is somewhere around 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon, so they back up your start time on Friday morning based on your team's 10K pace average. We won't know our start time until our average is compiled, and now that I think about it, 26 hours would be pretty fast. That would be a 2 p.m. start time. The leisurely teams I've run on in the past have started around 10 to 11 a.m. Friday morning.

Only one van has to start in Prescott, though. We change out vans for the next six runners in a little town on 89 halfway between Prescott and Wickenburg about six to seven hours after our start time. Depending on our start time, runners in Van 2 may be a able to work half a day if needed.

If anyone has any questions about the race, feel free to call me at 480-710-8830.

The wife gave me a green light so I'm in.  I know this takes alot of organization/preparation so let me know how I can help.  Do we register now or do we have to get the whole team together first?  Where do we go from here?

John, John, and Joe -- Early bird deadline is October 15, but I posted on Facebook and through e-mail and already I have seven people (including two of you) who say they are "in" and six more who are maybes. So we might have our team already! Hooray!

Of course it will depend on who plunks down the cash.

When I register, I have to pay the entire $1080 fee, and declare a team name, so I would prefer to get the team somewhat set before we register. But we have until January 15 to make changes to the team, so if someone has to drop before then, they just need to find someone to take their place. Hopefully we'll have a couple of alternates, too.

If your e-mail is not part of your BT profile, send me a PM with your e-mail address so I can add you to the e-mail list when I start sending out team communications.

Kim - How's the team slots coming along for Ragnar?  Are they all full?  Thought I'd bump to the top since early registration is 2 weeks out.

Hi Wendell! Our team--Aromatics on the Run--is already registered, but we had someone drop out already so there's a spot available. PM me with your e-mail address if you're interested.
