What tri season are you in this year?

I went with 3rd year even though I used to do triahtlons in the late 1980's....  I think of it as my "modern era" of triathlon.

Scary, first tri was 2005, so 5th.  But I am definitely still a beginner.  I went the sprint-Oly-HIM-IM route, but only raced one tri last year and might do one this year, due to various health issues that have made me step back and get some perspective. I'd like to do these long term, not just be a one and done IM guy

I did my first tri in October of 2005, so I guess over 5 years now.

First two tris were in September of 2007...next wasn't until 2008, so I said 4th season.  But I'm only just coming up to the 3rd anniversary of my first tri three weeks from now.

In any case, though, with my 20th tri coming up in November and having done a couple IMs, I'm not sure I can really get away with calling myself a "beginner" at this point...

2 and a half.  First summer was two super-sprints with no real training.  So second of actual training for tri.

I would have to say 0 year. Planning for my first Du this fall and my first tri early next season.

Off the couch in March doing various workouts...First tri was 6/26 as part of a relay...loved it and started my tri training a week later on 7/5...first 'full' race (sprint length) is 9/26.

Count me in for that statement. This is year 11 for me. My first race was in 1986, and stopped from 1990 to 2002. And boy, did the sport ever change during that break!   

First year, completed two sprints with one oly next weekend.  Looking forward to next year already!

My first tri was in 1984. I did one a year until 1988, when I graduated from college, then I went in whole-hog. Don't even know how many events I did a season back then, but it was often back-to-back, and sometimes two in a weekend. About 1993 or so I started to get into bike racing, and eventually left multi-sport for full-time bike racing. In 1998 I hung my bike up, and didn't get back into any real sport until 2003, with a year and a half off...

So that works out to... over 15. Man, that makes me feel old.

Finishing up my Junior year. Time to graduate next year with the Ironman!

1st year of Tri's; 2nd Sprint of the year next week. Looking forward to many more.

Anyhow. I put 3rd SEASON because I'm not counting the "seasons" when I didn't train but just went ahead and did a tri for fun.

My first tri was 2003.  I have only missed one season and that was because my first son was born in August.  My second son was born in February so I was able to get a couple of races in when I was pregnant with him and was able to race the year he was born.  But my seasons, post babies, have been limited.  I think I might have done 2 triathlons a year (possibly 3) since my first was born.  All have been sprints except one that was an olympic (the comeback race after first baby was born). I also race running races and have typically done several of these a year too. 

This is my first season. Did a sprint in July and planning on an Olympic in September. Just spent more on a tri-bike then my first car and I'm getting weird looks from my wife.

My 2nd. Definitely still a newb on the bike and swim.  But I am started running in 2005 and have a whole whack of that under my belt so I feel like I've got the endurance sport thing down pat.  I have lots to learn and experience yet but I understand the basics of training and racing.   I changed age groups for the first time this year ...

3rd year of Tri's - I'm not counting the first year where I did 2 Try a Tri's.  Year 4 is where I'm hoping to really improve and make better use of my training time.

4th year.  Enjoying (almost) every minute!

3rd season for me. I did one sprint in Oct-2008, one in Sep-2009, have done two so far this year (one in Jul, one in Aug), with one remaining in three weeks. I am MOP/BOP because I just don't train enough. Thinking about asking for a trainer for Christmas!

ETA that according to BT, I'm an "Extreme Veteran"!!
