Subject: Broken Foot

Tuesday my 1200lb horse stepped on my foot and "crumbled" a little bit of the distal end of my fifth metatarsal.  I'm now in an orthopedic shoe and have been instructed not to run for at least 4 weeks...I can't even switch back to regular shoes for at least three...  Does anyone know if there is something I can be doing to work on my running in the meantime?  Also, it lookslike it may interfere with my biking.  I was wondering if it might be okay to use the elliptical...(I hate it, but it's something).  Anyway, I would appreciate any ideas.

Ouch!!! So sorry to hear about your foot

Is it possible to tape it and do some pool running. I have heard great things about pool running although I have never done it personally. Perhaps someone else here as done it and can offer some advice.

You might be able to run in  the pool.  I'd lay low for the first week at least.  Try the elliptical and see how it feels...I make it a policy to stay away from animals that weigh that much with little tiny brains...but thats just mee...beautiful animals...from a distance
